I say keep Tanev. People are speculating that he'll get the 4.6 mil D salary like right meow.
He's a D man that is on pace for a 24 point season. I don't think he'll end up with 8 goals. 6 maybe. Has a muffin of a shot and won't see PP time.
He might crack 2 mil at the end of the season. Might be 2.5 without a NTC...
Bieksa needs to stay - he has an underrated ability to keep the puck in the O zone. Plus he's got character and the only nasty D man on the roster. He leaves and what little truculence the canucks have is gone too.
Trade for a D like Ron Hainsey or something at the deadline for depth. Maybe Talinder if management is feeling saucy. - Troutback
Agreed. Tanev is a keeper, he and Hamhuis are the rocks of our defense. Disagree that he can't be a PP d-man, I agree that his shot isn't great, but his poise and hockey sense is damn good, I'm okay with him on a 2nd unit if he's feeding a Garrison/Edler/Weber one timers.
Also disagree that the team should be looking to trade assets for a veteran defensemen, last thing we need to do IMO. When healthy you have Hamhuis, Tanev, Bieksa, Garrison, Edler, Corrado, Stanton in the organization and Weber can fill-in for a game here or there as a #6 guy without killing the team. |

Just finished my 1st visit to puckrant, what a joke.
Clouts picked a USA team that Canada could beat.
Forward Lines
Eric Cole - Scott Gomez - Jeff Halpern
Ryan Malone - Lee Stempniak - Adam Hall
George Parros - Cam Janssen - Jared Boll
Bobby Ryan - David Booth - RJ Umberger
Defensive Pairings
Jeff Petry - Tom Gilbert
JM Liles - Joe Corvo
Ryan Whitney - Mike Komisarek

Just had a look at Puckrant, is it just me or is that just too crowded looking? I don't think they could cram anything more on that home page. |

Okay, I finally gave in and just checked it out too, comment section sucks, I thought he'd be smarter and try to rip of HB's comment section layout(which credit to Ek/his web designer, is pretty damn good). The bloggers all showing their pics kind of creeps me out. Only good thing about it is the 3 or 4 cute chicks and their pics. Bust. Eklund won.
Wtf was Huddle thinking leaving HB, but yet he joined that site? |

Really? I thought with Cloutier and Esplen at the helm it was destined for greatness. They paying Huddle in cheeseburgers? |

Esplen was a good writer but I liked busting his chops on occasion. He was a tad homerish which was odd since he's a flames fan. |

Esplen was a decent writer but I liked busting his chops on occasion. He was a very homerish which was a clear attempt to get hits. - Yeti1181

He was a troll blogger here, those acts are fun at first but have a shelf life. It gets old quick for me personally. Canuck blogs were full of trolls and Canuck fans trying to defend Ian's homer comments, rarely had actual good debates or good Canuck-related talk like we've had.
Just my 2 cents, nothing against him personally and I know he did it for the hits/entertainment and wasn't being serious 100% of the time. |
