Good - like Ryan said, "all they had to do was cut me, not degrade me in public like that". - LeftCoaster
Does Ryan now give the bird to Hockey USA if they come calling in the future? |

Are you suggesting that Sedin Sedin Burrows , Higgins Santo Kesler would not be upgraded by Sedin Sedin Simmonds , Ladd Horvat Kesler next year? - VANTEL on paper maybe. Ladd and simmonds are damn good players.
But Higgins is the man. He's earned that spot on the second line.
Horvat hasnt proven by any means that he's nhl ready. Im a big fan, but he was disappointing in the wjr's. He wasnt better than about 4 or 5 forwards on canada, let alone proven pros. |

We are already spending 14 mil on two playmakers on the first line - VANTEL
So giving up 3 1sts for a decent yet unspectacular 2nd line winger fixes that?
You can get upset all you want but the sedins will continue to play together 95% of the time. Lets fix the 2nd line, rather then have even less passing on it |

I agree, two legit (to quit) wingers to play with Kesler, maybe that's the "first line"...Sedin's and Burrows the second line. |

Horvat was unquestionably the best 2 way forward on the team.
And I agree on higgins |

I believe he said if they came calling he would still be proud to wear the jersey. He isnt going to turn it down should there be an injury. |

Which is probably the best decision. Can't hold it against the entire country that current management and Burnside are classless |

We'll never win with Higgins as our second line LW'er, he's just not good enough to play that role on a continual basis. Love what he does, but he's never had a 20 goal season, we need (as you can see last night) legit top six players. |

Higgins has 3 20 goal seasons and has been on pace for 20 in each of the last 3 seasons. But he does have somewhat stone hand imo |

Adding Ladd and Simmer to your top six def makes you guys that much better. Higgins playing 3rd LW makes the most sense. Where he belongs. Simmer on the Twins wing will be what you guys hoped for in Kassian on theyre wing. Ladd with Kesler to me is a scary. I dont wanna see it happen. Good thing it prolly wont. |

I don't think we are cup contenders with that line up, and it guts our prospect pool which is finally starting to build up |

Booth? Bought out?
If the Cap goes up to $70m, as the NHL is prognosticating, I would hope the Canucks look better than this. |

I hear ya. But if you dont make the moves now then signing the Twins doesnt look so good. Its all about committing to winning. If you dont add those guys who you feel dont make you contenders. Then your not going to be contenders with the Sedins. By the time your prospects (granted they pan out) are legit top notch players the Twins will be retiring or at the tail end of theyre career. The time is now while theyre still effective. Like the deal Leftcoaster proposed for Ladd. I said it could happen with only one of those prospects. I cant remember the last time two high end prospects were traded for one player. And Edler is an asset in a trade all day. |

I also don't think Horvat is ready for NHL duty, or that Kassian has cemented himself as an everyday player. |

Yeah I agree. Santo cant be penciled in as a top 6. Hes very unpredictable. Could fall back to obscurity. |

Sorry I meant 30 goal seasons; still don't think he's a guy on the second line that's gonna get the job done for us. |

All top lines have a passer ,a sniper and a person who makes space and protects . Do you see anything remotely close to that on Canucks? |

Send him to the Jets for Ladd
We have these options, trade for a player or develop a player. I don't see a top six player (that's ready) in the organization. |

As of right now, the Canucks have $61m committed to 17 players for next season. That leaves only $10m (projected) for 6 players. This includes:
Booth's $4.25m and Corrado in the lineup on the final year of his ELC. |
