I didn't have Ladd on the first line I had the tougher younger more talented Simmonds on the first - VANTEL
So you want Sedin Sedin Simmonds...

As of right now, the Canucks have $61m committed to 17 players for next season. That leaves only $10m (projected) for 6 players. This includes:
Booth's $4.25m and Corrado in the lineup on the final year of his ELC. - 1970vintage
Booth is as good as gone, or he should be IMO. |

Most of those spots are filler spots. Bottom 6 guys. Not to mention if they make a move for someone and ship out Edler thats money out for money in. |

Dany Hank Burrows
Ladd Santo Kesler
Higgins Horvat Kassian
Sestito Richardson Archy
I'd be happy with this next year - LeftCoaster
Burrows is now Hansen but older and more expensive. |

Booth and Kassian have been okay together. They just need a solid centre other than Richardson. Santo played a bit with them last night, and that could be an okay third line. |

Burrows does a lot of things really well for the club, he stays and Hansen goes IMO, Kassian can take the third line RW spot until he grows as a player. Which will happen one day. |

All top lines have a passer ,a sniper and a person who makes space and protects . Do you see anything remotely close to that on Canucks? - VANTEL
As it stands today I don't see the Canucks having 6 forwards that would be considered "top 6". I see 4 at best, three if you don't consider Burrows.
But imagine Ryan - Kesler - Eberle as a first line and Sedin's and Burrows as a second line. Yeah yeah, it's never going to happen, but that's the kind of quality I would consider necessary.
If Pittsburgh can afford Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz and Neale... |

Higgins Santorelli Kassian would be a good third line next year, but we need to fit Horvat in somehow? |

You would be surprised...
Sedin Sedin Burrows
Booth Kesler Hansen
Higgins ? Richardson
Sestito ? ?
Hamhuis Bieksa
Garrison Edler
Corrado Stanton
Booth, Hansen don't belong on the second line, Richardson doesn't belong on the third line. When you bump players down to the role they are most appropriate for, the holes are pretty significant. |

Take a gander around the league.
What you are suggesting is the prototypical #1 but not the norm |

Include Hansen in a package that includes Edler to Detroit for Nyquist, Tatar and a 1st. |

Horvat was unquestionably the best 2 way forward on the team.
And I agree on higgins - Bieksa#3 ????
Lazar was WAY better. At both ends. He started as canada's 3rd line checker and was it's best forward for most of the tourney. Didnt sutter say as much?
I suppose one can make an argument about 2 way play in relation to drouin, mantha etc. but he didnt make a huge impact anyway.
I was dissapointed.
Drouin, lazar, mantha, petan, reinhart were all better for the most part i thought.
Or more dangerous and made a bigger impact anyway.
U dont agree? |

Been saying this for awhile. Hansen is the player that has the most value and is the easiest to replace internally. I like what he does, and wouldn't want to lose him but he is the type of player that, as an add on, cements a deal IMO. |

Yeah, maybe replace Sestito with a guy that can put it together a bit better.
Lets' say, just for fun, that the Canucks manage to move one of their $4m+ dmen for a legit top six forward, re-sign Tanev to a reasonable deal ($2m +/-) and then get a nice surprise next year from a guy like Shinkaruk. Add a couple of gritty legit 4th line players and it starts to look a lot better. |

Sedins and burrows are well past their prime. Canucks are paying them too much for their production. Would be nice to trade burrows and bring in some young energy and similar player for half the price. |
