Lazar was WAY better. At both ends. He started as canada's 3rd line checker and was it's best forward for most of the tourney.
I suppose one can make an argument about 2 way play in relation to drouin, mantha etc. but he didnt make a huge impact anyway.
I was dissapointed.
Drouin, lazar, mantha, petan, reinhart were all better for the most part i thought.
Or more dangerous and made a bigger impact anyway.
U dont agree? - hugefemale dog77
No I don't agree, and neither did the guys putting the players on the ice. Reinhart was awful. Brent constantly put him in position to succeed, yet looked slow and out of place for the majority of the tourny
Droulin, petan and mantha are awful players without the puck. TSN even said that mantha almost got cut because of hoe bad he is without the puck. Pet an constantly got out worked and outmustled in his own end.
Lazer is great but probably tops out as a 2nd/3rd liner, not much offensive upside. Horvat had his moments but again wasn't great. But there are 2 ends of the ice and most of the guys u mentioned are great at one and terrible at the other |

Include Hansen in a package that includes Edler to Detroit for Nyquist, Tatar and a 1st. - LeftCoaster
I dont think Detroit even considers that deal. They really like those two forwards. They really want a RH dman. Bab's doesnt like all his leftys. Not to mention they have like 3 or 4 pretty damn good LH dman prospects. Plus thats alot of money going in and almost nothing coming out. |

Yeah, maybe replace Sestito with a guy that can put it together a bit better. - 1970vintage
He's played well last couple of games. |

What?
Sestito has been playing amazing. Canucks haven't had a guy like him for years. Every body check he throws is crunching. |

No lazer wasn't better, Horvat took way more important draws at both ends and was put on in far more critical spots on both sides of the ice.
Pet an, Droulin and mantha are absolutely awful players without the puck. Hell mantha almost got cut because of it dispite his o game.
I thought Sam Reinhart was by far the worst forward on the team. Continuely put in positions to score and shine and continuly looked out of place.
Ekblad showed in this tourny he's way better |

Ok, so three games a year he is amazing
Sestito doesn't make the same play that Nolan made last night to set up the game winner.
EDIT - plus his crunching body check last night landed him in the penalty box... |

It would be a disaster for Detroit to move both those kids. Datsyuk has 5 yrs left in him. Not all 5 can be at a high caliber. But it could. Zetter's 33 as well. |

As per about a dozen diffent sites the canucks have had discussions with the wings about Edler within the last 2 weeks. Canucks asking for Tatar, Nyquist, Smith and 1st. Detroit is apparently hesitant about the pick |

Thats crazy to me. If that is going to happen kudos to the Nucks Management. Edlers good. But thats alot. I feel Detroit cant afford to lose either of those forwards as they are going to be key guys I feel. |

I guess it still leaves them Frk, Jurco and Mantha. But the other two are NHL ready right now. Detroit could really use that youth in theyre line up. Like I said. If theyre only hesitant on the pick. I think its going to be a steal for the Nucks. |

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
I thoughy lazar was canadas best forward in that tourney and horvat wasnt even in the top 4 or 5. And i was dissapointed cause i was so stoked for that 2nd line.
As far as the guys puttin them out; i know for sure sutter mentioned how great lazar was for them.
I dont know about nhl ceiling, but he was far better in this tourney i thought
And i realize the other guys i mentioned are scorers first. And its kind of apples and oranges. I just thought they made a bigger impact offensively than horvat did defensively. And bo's offensive contributions werent near what i expected. |

I say that's still a good deal for the Canucks, even without the pick. But that would also depend on what is going back the other way with Edler, there would have to be to make the contract numbers work. |

I agree, but he wasn't put in the situation to be offensive. He'd come out with 20 seconds left on the pp every time. He was also playing with two young kids and had to be defensively responsible for that line. |
