Tanev Gaunce Hansen?
- VANTEL

Can't really believe this is the best offer they'll get for Wheeler, but stranger trades have happened. They'd have to really be sold on the rebuild route and the longer term potential of those guys. If I'm WPG I don't see the introduction of those 3 and the loss of Wheeler improving that team at all.

Who do you think they could beat?
- VANTEL

They would have trouble with boston an pitt. They would take NY and Phi no prob. TB would be a good series that would come down to goaltending.

Giving up Nino hurt. Giving up Hamilton hurt more!
- KB3Point0

Seabrook was hard to give up but I wanted the younger similar Hamilton

Love to get Santorelli locked up, PERFECT third line center or a tweener. That makes one of Higgins or Hansen redundant though, so package Hansen with Edler - good value for a return there.
- LeftCoaster

One of those depth players with Edler would bring a healthy return.

It should be the max offer from a team that won't make it past the first round. wheeler is not a series changer for Canucks

Yup - realistically we are two top six players short, our top nine IMO should be this.

Dany Hank Burrows
??? Kesler ???
Higgins Santo Kassian

Agreed.

Although, for a few reasons already pointed out, Edler to WPG might not be an option.

As much fun as it is to speculate, I doubt Edler gets traded in the near future.

I'd say you did pretty good. We should have a pretty good match up this week.

Wheeler is young and signed long term to a good contract—he doesn't have to be a "series changer" this season, he's also part of the future.

He's not a rental just for this season.

Hansen, one of Jensen/Gaunce/Cassels, the 2014 1st, and maybe another minor piece or two is not "the future," though.

Well worth it for a big top-6 forward signed to a good contract who hasn't entered his prime yet.

Of course, other teams could likely offer more.

And anything more than that might be too much of the future, as you say.

However unfortunate, I completely agree. Gillis doesn't have the know-how or the balls to pull off a big time trade. I think he'll roll with what he's got and we'll be a first round knockout again, if we even make the playoffs?

As would I, but I'd give them the choice of the three prospects.

Maybe the rights to Rodin, or something else minor.

Our future down the middle is Hank - Horvat - Cassels. Purely wishful thinking on my part but Kesler on Horvats RW would be sweet. Cassels looks to be a good third liner, again wishful hopeful feelings on my part. Much to early to speculate on those two kids.

IMO we should be trying to trade for a top six LW'er, as our prospect pool (or lack there of) is pretty void on the left side.

The NTC makes it difficult to get equal value for Edler. An added hindrance to something MG already seems to struggle with.
