If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. I'll take the guys that have managed to score because I reckon they've probably hit a bunch of posts too. - DTF69

Oh please nothing. Couture was one of the top rookies in the league, has excellent hockey sense & 9 times out of 10 he's on the way to the puck before it even gets to where it's headed. The only reason he isn't higher in the scoring race is that he has hit about 20 posts/crossbars this season.
Hate his attitude or his teeth all you want, he's still Sochi material.
& thanks for letting us all know that you're an expert on "dumb people...." - Team_Teal
As u can see by my posts, I'm a Culture fan. But i hate the "snakebitten" argument. I find it gutless. Bounces work themselves out over a season or 2. Maybe he got a few he didn't deserve last yr. |

Just curious, why not Bouwmeester for the same reason as Seabrook? Bouwmeester and Pietrangelo have been money all season, and Bouwmeester is playing great hockey right now. |

Right, no other player this year has hit the posts. Thats the only reason Couture isn't putting up elite numbers. He is the one unlucky guy to be hitting the bar in the NHL. James Neal, Taylor Hall, Patrick Marleau, etc. have just gotten lucky that they hit the back of the net instead of the post.
Logan Couture, noted sniper, is tied with Jordan Eberle for goals. They both happen to trail Reilly Smith, Ryan Johansen, David Perron and Jaden Schwartz. Noted elite players in contention for team Canada. |

Boumeester will be there over Seabrook. That's a given. Seabrook rode the pine after the 1st couple of games in 2010 |

Really don't like the lack of mobility at centre. And no way Toews plays anywhere but centre. Tavares could shift to the wing but I just don't se the need for Joe T on the team, especially on the big ice. |

You should probably get a ladder for that hole you're digging yourself into. It looks pretty deep. |

Kunitz is Burrows v2.0. Good player on his own, but inflated stats due to line mates. |

Jumbo joe has 90 points in 73 games over the course of seasons he's played during lock outs. The big ice isn't a concern for him the same way it would be for others based on his elite passing |

So you want to through Kunitz on the first line just because he has chemistry with the best player in the world? I'm pretty sure Crosby can do well with line mates like Stamkos, Tavares, or Neal and Giroux, etc. Not having Crosby along side of Kunitz is not going to hurt his play one bit.
Yes. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.
Don't forget, Crosby doesn't have all those Kunitz assists unless Kunitz is putting the puck in the net. It's not like Kunitz is the second coming of Peter Worrell, he has the ability to play at a high level. |

He's not making the team to be a defensive presence. Thats going to Giroux, Toews, Bergeron, Sharp, Benn, Perry and whoever your spare forwards are. Even Sid, Stamkos, Getzlaf, etc. are good defensive players in their own right. He wouldn't be there to make the safe play late in a close game. Thats going to other players.
That has him making the team as a scorer. So why? Why not take someone who is a better scorer? Like Hall, Marleau, Neal, Carter.
You can never have too much offence. Take someone who has proven they can blow the game open consistently this year. |

Amazing how anyone who plays with Crosby or on Chicago is an amazing individual player, and everyone who plays with the Sedins or Tavares is pond scum leeching off their talent. |

That's the thing, couture's a helluva 2 way player....
Are you saying that team Canada should roll 4 pure scoring lines & let the d-men handle the rest? That's a recipe for disaster. You shore up your defensive responsibilities which allows you to create offensive ones...correct? |

I like Getzlaf at centre with Bergeron and Taveres splitting the last spot. |
