Amazing how anyone who plays with Crosby or on Chicago is an amazing individual player, and everyone who plays with the Sedins or Tavares is pond scum leeching off their talent. - Morris
Yup. I wouldn't put Kunitz or Sharp on team canada. |

Just curious, why not Bouwmeester for the same reason as Seabrook? Bouwmeester and Pietrangelo have been money all season, and Bouwmeester is playing great hockey right now. - jpl0219
I've never liked him then watched him play heartless hockey in Calgary for a long time. He's a great skater but Ice Dancing isn't my sport. |

I've seen more Sharp than Kunitz so I have more to go off of, but Sharp is a superior two-way player to Kunitz is he not? He also kills penalties and can take a faceoff.
I'm not torn up about either of them on the team per se, but I'm not counting on both. |

Yes. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.
Don't forget, Crosby doesn't have all those Kunitz assists unless Kunitz is putting the puck in the net. It's not like Kunitz is the second coming of Peter Worrell, he has the ability to play at a high level. - Grinder6
So, if Crosby had Neal on his line instead of Kunitz, he wouldn't have nearly the amount of assists that he has now? Kunitz should not be on the first line of Team Canada. |

That's the thing, couture's a helluva 2 way player....
Are you saying that team Canada should roll 4 pure scoring lines & let the d-men handle the rest? That's a recipe for disaster. You shore up your defensive responsibilities which allows you to create offensive ones...correct? - Team_Teal
Or you roll 4 offensive lines and have the puck the entire time and let the other team worry about stopping you. |

Chicago doesn't have set lines quite like Pittsburgh does. Toews-Sharp-Kane-Hossa all play with each other all over the place. In the playoffs it was a lot of Sharp-Kane, Hossa-Toews. This season its been more Toews-Sharp, Hossa-Kane but just as much all over the place. |

I think he was miscast terribly in his first years with calgary.
he turned his game back to where it was as soon as Hartley came in and no longer asked him to be a fukin shutdown guy. and neither has Hitchcock
true two way defencemen and a brilliant skater for his size.
dominant last year and killing it again.
this aint a coincedence |

I don't really care who they pick. Seriously. We could pick from a hat and still win gold . It has nothing to do with capable players, they are all capable.
That American team that was chosen is sh!t. Peter Nedved will be on the Czech Team. Half the Russians Defense couldn't make the Oilers. The Finnish team all look like the Elves from LOTR, the Swedes....okay the Swedes are pretty good I suppose, but they have to pick the best their country has to offer.
The only thing that worries me about Canada is Goaltending. |

I was thinking as well though about hawks fans that claimed Saad was helping his linemates more than they were helping him during Calder season last year...and I seem to remember some ridiculous trade value suggestions for Bolland after they won their first cup.
Maybe I. Just tangled with the wrong hawks fans! |

Saad is turning into a very good player.
I'd say he is helping his linemates more but I think that comes a bit more from his development versus him carrying the load. |

I had zero respect for him for a long long time... but in the past couple years he's changed my opinion.
If we are protecting a lead Vs. Russia, I want HIM on the ice

Good point about Kunitz I heard on TSN...
He's 4th in league scoring.
Give credit to Crosby... sure... but still, 4th.
If Rick Nash was on that line would he be higher than 4th in scoring?
Doubt it

Rick Nash sucks and has never developed chemistry with any player he's ever played with. |

Absurd. But Stevey Y thinks for some reason he's "performed every where I've brought him" or something. Except in the playoffs, except in Torino and except in Vancouver.
Heck, he was so good in Vancouver he played his way off Crosby's line and onto the 4th line. But he had ONE GOAL all tournament against Russia so "ah man oh geez that Wick Nash is so good!" |
