Im on the other side of thinking.
I would rather he just get to play without all of the pressure on "his" shoulders, and have a realistic chance at winning.
I think it could be more valuable to him in the long term, gaining such an experience, and being surrounded by other great leaders instead of losing year after year in Philadelphia. Just me. - flyer_nutter
i understand. that said i have no interest in him being a teammate with crosby. i want that hate to burn. |

I believe that he signed to play a bigger role than he could've back on the wrong side of the state. I mean, the extra money was probably convincing too, but I think what he really wants is to keep being a star. - BulliesPhan87
im sure that definitely played a part in it as well. especially after how it went down between him and the organization, he really didnt owe the pens to come back there. i fully understand that. i just wish he wouldnt have been so verbal about it, only to sign with the flyers. most certainly petty sour grapes that ive since gotten over though |

nothing wrong with good clean hate. that being said, they had better get used to it, because i cant see giroux constantly being snubbed. they are going to be benchmates on international ice for the next decade |

i do admit, i find a tiny grain of humor in the fact that in simply one season there, he managed to turn throngs of people who probably swore at him up and down for years, calling him a soft prettyboy and the like, into people who love (at the very least, respect him a great deal) him.
one small comfort for having to see him in the orange and black and hear the same drooling individuals who yelled CARBOMB instead yell JAGRBOMB! - stayinthefnnet
I've always liked and respected Jagr; Lemieux, not so much. |

if you dont respect mario, i dont anything i can say is gonna change that so im not even going to bother to try haha
my point is, the same legions of OMFGFGFGF CRYSBY IS SUCH A GURL wussy people would have the same reversal of tune by some bizzaro world in which crosby was a flyer. |

absolutely dumb. and the fact that he has wing experience should have ensured it. a lot of centers are going to be playing out of position, i would have wanted a guy who has had experience doing so. |

I was the other way around until I saw Jagr up close here in Philly. I was wrong about that dude.
And don't forget....Flyers fans did this once with Mario:

I hope they crash and burn. You better believe Russia wants to beat them on their own soil. |

Only problem w/Giroux not making the team is that he Hartnell and Brayden Schenn will now spend a week in the Domincan Repbulic sucking down Run Runners and passing around venereal diseases. |

The positives are he gets some rest, avoids potential injury. It also lights a fire under his ass to prove Yzerman wrong. He still may be an injury replacement. |

I was so annoyed that ended up being a 3 point game. Columbus had a 3-1 lead heading into the 3rd |

You can make an argument that Giroux is better than, at least, half the forwards on CA. |

I know. I just hate when teams close to the Flyers play each other and it becomes a 3 point game. It seems like it always happens. |
