All of a sudden a week + later he's not even practicing. This wreaks of a Flyers announcement that he will be undergoing some sort of surgery and will be out indefinitely.

It really does. I remember in one of the broadcasts Coatesy was saying he'd be back against Pheonix. Then the other guys were like "well, we're not sure, but we're hopeful"

He left the game with a "lower body injury." He now has an "upper body injury." So basically, his entire body is broken.

Hopeful.

It's too bad they aren't taking Giroux, but he shouldn't be sad. In the end Canada will be the ones to regret not taking guys like him and St Louis in favor of guys like Marleau, Carter, and Nash. It's good that he seems ready to move forward from it. Hopefully he goes forward and has one of the best months of his career this month, so Canada's management can feel nice and salty when they make a quick exit from the Olympics without him.
