I just don't see the upside with him... oops.
(I guess it's Cooter's turn to get traded for Yandle/Byfuglien/Weber/Yakupov again) - Tomahawk
How about we keep these young guys and try and build from within?
Nah that's never gonna work... TRADE EM ALL! |

Dude....bro....seriously?
He was joking.
You're more of a buzzkill than Buzz Killington
EDIT: Animal Farm though- great book. One of the only ones worthy of a "I would read this again" seal from me that we read in school. And I hate reading - Giroux_Is_God
1984 is a far superior piece of literature than animal farm. |

Crazy game. I knew it wasn't over with the pp at the end. Devils deserved to win that game but the flyers finally competed in the 2nd/3rd periods. Still so many mistakes in their own half of the ice. Devils created offense on virtually every mistake. Emery with a hell of a game. Can't believe they got 2 points in NJ. Even more shocked I was there to see it. |

His return to being a bastard has been a huge help to this team. He's got to be out there wreaking havoc and running into goalies... - Jsaquella
Indeed...when he is picking up a goalie interference call now and again it usually means he is on his game. |

Although the flyers played a sad first period.. the style of play that NJ employs sucks the life our of the game.. It's painful to watch and the Flyers also have zero idea how to counter it.. - Hextall271
i don't have the energy to read the rest
we win.
i wonder if that makes the negativas happy or sad. |

from a flyers fan perspective they outplayed the opponent most of the final 50 minutes. |

7 points would have been more than acceptable. They got 10.
Team has weaknesses, most teams do. After the first month, I didn't envision this type of turnaround. They are an entertaining team to watch again. - PLindbergh31
i said i wanted 12.
i got 10. i'll take it. |

Hartnell has definitely picked up his game the last couple of weeks.
He might be an asset to this team after all.

i brought up the craps having 12 regulation or ot wins last week to point out how pitiful it was that they were in 2nd in the division. it may have been longer than a week ago i don't recall.
they still have 12 row. same as isles. |

Don't know if anyone wanted him traded, its just it usually comes down to either he or Couts when discussion comes to getting another decent defenseman in here, you have to probably deal from a strength (center), there's a difference between that & wanting a guy gone |

Dealing from 'strength' has gotten them in trouble before (see: Bob, JvR)... seems logical on the surface, but all it takes is one guy getting hurt, or one guy not playing up to snuff, or the guy you trade away blossoming to have it seriously blow up in your face.
IMO, best course of action is always to hang on to young studs, deal with the growing pains, and build around them with sensible additions. If they really do have to deal a C, it would make a lot more sense to try to move Vinny (or move him to wing, as they have) rather than peddle either of the kids for expensive vets.
As for getting that elusive dman... it's probably not going to happen this year, for a variety of reasons. They made their bed already by bringing in Streit... for better or worse, they've got to ride him out for the remainder of the year and hope something better falls into their laps over the summer... or just bide their time until the kids are ready to step in on the blueline, too. |

Coots hasn't been playin his best lately. Dare I suggest
Voracek - giroux -raffl
Simmer - schenn - harts
Read - vinny - downie
Hall - coots - rinaldo
I don't think it will happen but def gives a more responsible 4th line - AGL_91
He's played better the MORE time you've given him. Having him play 5 mins a night is a wasted asset. And who, in the top three lines, is your shutdown line?
