This team is not a contender, 8th seed at best.

Helps when u got Malkin/crosby/Letang/Neal shooting

Its like the oilers. Dispite their goaltending they are a good shootout team.

Maybe we can trade Lack to Toronto

They may have stars for the shoot out in Pitt but 4 of 32 is peewee. I am sure your daughter could come close to those stats if Torts put her out

I'm on the fence about going drastic measures to improve in the shootout. Give a ton up for an average player who is money in the shootout. At playoff time (if u make it) you make an average player. Not sure that's a great idea

So apparently Detroit's Edler offer was Brendan Smith, Tomas Tatar, and Riley Sheahan, and Gillis wanted 3 of Nyquist, 1st, Smith, Tatar from what I've read.

I've read about a dozen reports in the past 2 weeks and all of them said the same thing and this wasn't it. Its kinda right. Sheahen wasn't mentioned in one of them

We don t need shoot out specialist we need people that can score and play defence. How many of those SO s were unnecessary

But if we won half our SOs we would be tied with SJ in 4 th

Jason Botchford just wrote an article in the newspaper yesterday and said what the deal was

Maybe they were, but it is nice to see the bandwagon fans back out.

We win 5 of 6 and they can't wait to sign extensions to the fringe player who played well for 2 weeks. We lose 5 of 6 and we are awful. The needs of this team shouldn't change regardless if we won 2 or lost 2. And lately that isn't the case

He's a rumor hound like the rest of them. There's enough together that I think botch is making this up.

That's amazing considering the team he plays for has 4 shootout wins this year.

I think that's what he meant, 11 for 11 in attempts sounds about right.

What's the word on Sheahan? Haven't really heard anything about him since he played for the World Junior's.

It does sound crazy to make a big trade for a shoot out specialist who is an average player otherwise. You make the trade and that player gets hurt and then you have a huge hole in the lineup.

The same holes in the lineup have been there for the last few seasons- top 6 skill, some size and puck moving D. If we could get Ehrhoff or someone of his ilk...

What a difference between playing Cali teams and Penn teams. We don't have an answer for the size and "grit" of the Cali teams.

Canucks have to play a full 60 minutes and play to win, not to tie.

Can't speak for others but I been pretty steady with my comments. I know when they did go through the winning steak the first time ,I thought I might have been wrong but I wasn't .

I said before the season started they would finish 7/8 in our conference and were between 12/16 in the league. I also said we should get Simmonds and it would be a mistake signing the Twins long term. I stay by what I said.

I am not sure why our fans get upset when we give the facts about this team. We are not elite now and are middle of the pack.

Most teams rely on their top guys and talent to get the job done in the SO.

I agree with this.

Its a transition yr, it is what it is. Moving multiple young assets for a veteran player is foolish. If we cab get a guy say 25-26 or younger. Signed long term that can fit in as a core guy, then kool. But the suggestions to move 1st and (insert 2 or 3 of our upper prospects here) for a guy like CA my, lAdd , Callahan (am I missing a few) is foolish.
