His wrist shot is one of the best in the game.

No arguments here. Speaking of lethal shots, surprised Semin got snubbed.

Jeff Carter was my only surprise making the team. Not making the team is Giroux you have to go with the hot hand.

Still don't really understand why we can't/don't send 2 teams... Every other Olympic event can have multiple qualifiers. Why not hockey? Not saying both would be contenders for Gold, but our "B" team could beat a few of the "A" teams that'll be there. Then anything can happen once the tourney begins.

Thinking outside the box, Herr Doctor

P.S. that's one big @##$@#$ box

Wonder what would have happened if he was in the KHL and Radulov was in the NHL.....(frank)ing Russians really don't want these guys playing in the NHL.

Well apparently Couture is indeed out for awhile so that snub makes sense. All the more reason why a versatile guy like Richards could have made sense.

Yes, he didn't have the greatest tournament, that's for sure. However, it looks like he's really picked up his game this year (and it would have been a no brainer to put him and Keith together)
- Zogg

He was paired with Keith last time till he forced a change. He's not a good skater and keep in mind 2010 was on NhL sized rinks

Well....yeah, that's exactly why they don't want Canada to send 2 teams.

Marleau was on my bubble list. Depending on who he would play with. Not really a huge surprise though. I figured he would make it over JOe the wonder Dbag for sure.

Meh, Richards isn't a great skater himself. I'd rather Thornton over him.

IMO there is nothing Marleau brings that Giroux doesn't, and Giroux is a far better 2 way player. I think Crosbys hate for Giroux did it

So does Booth and Weise heathy scratches mean Booth Weise Hansen for Whheler?

Richards can play the PK and a checking role as well as center/wing though, perfect depth/extra forward. I'm guessing that not being the greatest skater was cost him though, like you said.

I think he's picked up his game over the past few years (seems more agile and making much better decisions - I've had a chance to watch the Hawks quite a number of times this year - for some reason I get the feed from one of the Chicago stations - and I think part of the reason Keith has been on fire this year, is that Seabrook is playing the solid 'shutdown' role.

I guess we'll see - if anything he will certainly be exposed on the big ice if it turns out he resorts to the 2010 Seabass version

Yes. Hansen will play sparingly as well.

But seriously, glad Archibald is back up, I still think he's better for the 4th line than Weise.

At least a month. Like I said, he had my final roster spot. But probably not being in great game shape removes him for me.

If he plays tough he is a lot better. Can't take shifts off. Hit or get off

Still can't believe Giroux was not picked, and Marleau was. As you pointed out, Giroux can do it all (AND he's also tough, hits, and is a leader.....Marleau....not so much

Semin has 6 (frank)ing goals and is a horses ass. I wouldn't have taken him either

Carter can skate, and if he gets a breakaway there's a good chance he'll bury it. I don't mind him being there at all. Enough guys on the team can kill penalties, and the best way to contain the other team is to keep the puck in their zone.
