Won't come cheap. 1st round pick minimum. - Ryan_Wilson
Really? If that's the case then I would pass. Don't want to go a second year in a row without a 1st rounder. Granted our 1st will be a low 1st. |

Agree, just about everyone on Peg is kinda meh to me. Not interested in Kane either. - sammy87
Seriously? I would be interested in Wheeler, but would love Kane. Line him up with Kunitz and Crosby and that would be just frightening. |

Trouba would be a nice piece for any team. I think Kane is going to be really good, and maybe Bogosian. Do they have Vince Trochek (spelling?)? |

Think of it from a Sabres standpoint. He is their captain (whether that is the right decision or not is moot) and they clearly value his presence. For them to trade him away and bail on re-signing him it is going to take something of significance to pry him away.
For all the Sabres faults they usually get value when they sell off players. The problem is that they are in a situation to sell more times than not.
Vanek, Gaustad, Roy, and Pominville all gave them pretty decent returns. |

Kane is also only 21, so you trade for him and you have Sid-Kane followed by Malkin-Neal for the next 10 years. As much as I love Kunitz, he may only have 3 good years left in him. I think this injury may start dupuis' regression |

Didn't Gaustad give them a 1st rounder? That guy is barely a 3rd line center |

100 percent agree with all of this. like i said, id definitely be willing to move a good deal. whether or not it would be enough is another thing. i wouldnt totally destroy the organization over it. |

The return they got for Vanek was highway robbery. Moulson + 1st + 2nd is a great return. |

The Penguins also got Neal and Niskanen for GoGo. Not likely to get that return very often, though, |

Kane is just one example though. There are a few younger wingers out there that I would also like, but I think Kane would be the ideal guy. I've also been an enormous fan of oshie and always wanted the pens to grab him.
But if letang is on his way out in a year or so, then he will definitely grab a good winger for Sid and possibly more |

definitely. i think the organization is set on keeping letang a part of it, so i am trying to think of moves not involving him. what the return could be largely based upon prospects going the other way |

Apparently playing with Sid is not too tough.
http://www.sbnation.com/n...tm_campaign=articlebottom - powerhouse
I don't think he is tough to play with at all, he will be "successful" no matter what.
The key with Crosby is maximizing his potential and I do think certain styles of players are better for him to maximize that potential.
North/South, pass when you can not when you have to, willing to be assertive and play in all areas of the rink.
Kunitz and Dupuis both provide that style and its the kind of game that Sid likes to play.

I can't believe somebody put the work in to come to the conclusion that players that play with Crosby will have more points than if they didn't. - canadianpenfan
Well, everyone except.............................Ryan Malone. he was a real snow shoe plodder. Not a good skater at all. |

I honesty believe that at the end of the day we trade depres and he becomes a top 4 d man for his next team ... Disco is a good coach but terrible with young players more often then not... It's not acceptable that a 22 year kid gets blamed for the terrible hockey player Orpik was in Vancouver ... There is no way that engo should ever dress over him period end of story ... Hate to say it but getting him away from bylsma is the best thing that can happen for the kid... Same goes for bortozzo |

Nope. Penguins tickets sell out in Edmonton faster than the Oilers drop in the standings. I have to work anyways.
I will be PVR'ing it. |

Orpik is the guy that probably deserves to sit one right now but the reality is that can't/won't happen after Bylsma lobbied for his inclusion on the US team.
Despres was not good against Vancouver but I think his partner has been worse for a few games now. - Ryan_Wilson
Youre right. Interested to see Bortuzzo with him though. Despres and Orpik just looked uncomfortable all game. Their positioning was just off all the time so they couldnt even make clean passes out of the zone. |
