No I wouldn't. However the Penguins probably would. We are pretty set on D but you could trade Weber to Philly and get Claude, Simmonds and Vorecek - dbell646
If that was true, Weber would be a Flyer today. |

Maybe now they realize they should have done it! It's all hypothetical bs anyway.
And just pulled up Giroux on Capgeek he is about to get paid next season. Wonder what he's gonna buy with all that cash |

The Flyers wouldn't trade Giroux, and wouldn't trade both of B Schenn/Couturier as part of the deal, which is why they resorted to the OS. |

I'm about as big of a Weber fan as you'll find. And no, all of that for 1 player (not named Crosby) is not a good trade. Your hatred of Claude is fascinating, though. |

Come on man I answered a stupid question with a stupid answer. You really see Nashville offering Weber Jones and 3 1sts for Malkin? Has nothing to do with the way I feel about Giroux |

if i was the flyers, a deal involving 2 of their young forwards other than giroux, and other parts like picks and what not, i probably would have done. but giroux would have been a non starter. you get weber to anchor the back to giroux's front. |

#Pens D-pairs today: Orpik-Bortuzzo, Maatta-Niskanen, Despres/Scuderi-Letang
Have to assume Despres sits |
|
|
|
Shea Weber, Seth Jones, and 3 1st round picks for Malkin. Would you do it? - jmatchett383
Yes, then trade letang and nisk for some high quality forwards, sign joe Thornton in the offseason to keep the 1-2 punch and since Nashville blows, you most likely get 3 top 10 picks for the next 3 years
Edit: wait, nhl 14 won't let me do that... The preds gm pretty much said I'm an idiot |

No, I was just pointing out that, outlandish as it may seem (see: Milbury, Mike), there is a potential deal for Malkin. You then said Philly would WANT to trade those players for Weber, which is the exact opposite of what I was proposing. |

Letang currently sits 3 behind the leader of goals scored for defenseman with half the games played. He also has 2 more then Nisky does in half the games. He may not get it on net every shot but when he does it goes in. And he actually has more shots on goal then Nisk. - dbell646
Nisky is +22, Tanger is -5, on this team that is a telling stat. I am not a stats guy either. |

The deal being kicked around was something like Voracek, B Schenn, Couturier, Bourdon, Meszaros, and 2 1sts. The Flyers reportedly were okay with it, but didn't want to give up both B Schenn and Couturier. As itt urns out, Bourdon may never play again, and they are trying like hell (or were) to give Meszaros away. Still, Voracek, Schenn, Couturier, and 2 1sts is a steep, steep price. |

lets shift gears. eberle and evander kane are always the first 2 young good wingers thrown out there. similar to how letang was to be kept out of the discussion earlier, what are some other similar names at that position to throw out there? |

true. but you have to overpay to get a guy like that. three of the forwards may push it over the edge for me, but a combo of either couturier and simmonds or schenn and voracek plus 2 firsts is pretty close to fair value. |

That's the worst one you can use Shea Weber is a -12. I'd take Letang everytime it's not even close |

He plays for an extremely offensively challenged team. The Pens are not the Preds. |

Yeah, you totally missed the point.
I said would Pittsburgh trade their 1 player for a loaded package.
You then said the exact opposite, that Philly SHOULD trade a loaded package for 1 player.
And you don't see the difference?
If you said, "Would you trade Giroux, Simmonds, and Voracek for Weber?" then I would have said no, A Preds fan would (I would suppose) say yes. Are you really not getting this? |

Kyle Okposo? - jmatchett383
it really does get difficult doesnt it? Benn to me is better than either eberle or kane. and unfortunately dallas probably wouldnt return any phone calls with new management.
okposo's not a bad suggestion. hes never really done it for me though for some reason. i'm struggling here for realistic options that fit the bill. i'd say bobby ryan, but i doubt he gets moved again so soon. |

My answer was I wouldn't but the Pens probably would. There was your answer to your stupid ass question. And then I proceeded to say they would flip him to your team for those guys and you got butt hurt. |
