Calisse. - Pecafan Fan
at this rate, I think I would have kept Cammalleri
EDIT: I know the trade wasn't so bad since the Habs drafted Fucale with the second round pick Calgary gave them. I was just talking about the 2 players one on one |

Yum, a team with Gionta, Cam, Desharnais, Briere and Gallagher. When does Nathan Gerbe arrive? |

I prefer a Smurf who scores than a big goof who doesn't know where the net is.
I really don't understand how Bourque managed to score 27 goals |

Was not comparing Eller and Markov. Was comparing your reaction.
Markov has been unreal for years, but I think Bergevin should make him available and see how many teams get involved. Personally, I think he'd be highly sought after and it wouldn't be too difficult to get a bidding war and an overpayment. |

I don't see that happening as long as the team is in the playoffs picture. |

Me neither. No way to replace the minutes, or what he brings during those minutes. |

I would like to see get a contract offer and named captain when gionta is not re-signed.

That's really too bad. I think Bergevin has some serious pieces in place that could become a pretty solid team in a very short time span. Trading Markov could go a long way in helping that out... |

Hey guys, you know what I think?
I think the habs should offer Markov a contract extension and name him team captain next year when they don't re-sign Gionta.

See, the thing is, it's nice to think about the future, but the fact is Montreal is, so far, very much in the playoffs picture. I understand you need to think about "the future", but there is still a season to play.
If you're in the playoffs picture, you tend to try and make your team better for the playoffs, not get rid of your #2 dmen in terms of minutes played for pieces that may help you in the future. |

I get that, but this would mean that Bergevin and Therrien believe that this team can make it out of the East. I think this team isn't really there. With the amount of teams that would compete in order to overpay for Markov, (and I think there are many) I think that "pieces that may help you in the future" might be a rather pessimistic view of what trading Markov would really bring back... |

If Bergevin puts Markov out there and the best a team offers is a first and 2 seconds, then I agree with you guys. Screw it. Play it out and see what can happen this year. |
