I wonder if Carlyle will throw his Sharpie against the whiteboard... I think it's been effective thus far... |

That was a disgusting display of disinterested D zone play on the 3rd goal by those two. - 1979AD
Absolutely. I want to punch them in their fat faces.I dont even blame any forward on that goal after watching those two sack of poops |

This team is not built for his "systems" they want to play offence he preaches defence they just stop listening.
what is easier 1 coach adapt to the way 20 players play or 20 players adapting to what 1 coach wants. - BuzzKiller
They got to play offense under RW's system: 18 wheeler/cliff. |

Because everyone (Carlyle included) got it in his head that Franson was something more than a #5.
He put up points and was kinda/sorta decent playing sheltered minutes and suddenly he became a "future top pairing" dman... Despite already being 27 years old. - Leeman4Gilmour
Point is that Franson Fraser was better than all the other pairings they've attempted with him. Who cares is they look like poop with other guys, chemistry is chemistry so why screw with it? If it fails on its own merit then fine, but the pairings they had in the playoffs last season were better than this. |

Carlyle's job is safe, I'm told?... Two or three more games like this and it sure as hell won't be. - Mr_Clean
It's Nonis or Carlyle.
If Nonis wants to keep his job, he's going to have to fire Carlyle by the end of the week at this rate.
Gardiner in the press box and THIS is the defense he has to watch? |

Elaborating on what I said earlier. Growing pains are to be expected with a young team like the Leafs, and that's acceptable so long as there's consistent improvement. This team looks worse than they have in a very long time. Carolina is missing their star centre and regular starting goal-tender. This game should be won handily just by playing fundamentals. |

#5???? You are being far too kind. All he has is a slap shot.that is it. Surely to god there are kids all over Canada that have decent slap shots? |

Do you really think they would sack Nonis so quickly? I find that hard to imagine, even with the amount of pressure the Leafs organization will be facing in the next couple weeks if/when this team continues to struggle. |

So you're advocating to blow it all up. Who should be kept and built around? - 1979AD
Well we are screwed now. Who the hell would want clarkson and phaneuf a contracts? You could unload kessel. But they aren't rebuilding under nonis. If kessel, phaneuf, lupul, jvr, clarkson and bozak are the core. Then they need a better supporting cast. But that ain't happening with either. They'll barely a playoff team but yet they are at the same cap as quality playoff teams |

Leafers during the RW era: we need a coach that will teach these guys how to play systems! RW's coaching is too run and gun.
Leafers today: RC system doesn't work...this team needs to use their speed and play more offensively.

If they miss the playoffs, I predict wholesale changes.
Leiweke will see it as the perfect opportunity to bring in his team of guys. He's the type of guy who wants his hand in it. That terrifies me, but so be it. |

Kinda accurate statement... I had forgotten how much people whinged over the offensive orientation of RW. |
