Leafers during the RW era: we need a coach that will teach these guys how to play systems! RW's coaching is too run and gun.
Leafers today: RC system doesn't work...this team needs to use their speed and play more offensively.

Yeah, now they do.....after hearing that every game... - ThePresident
If at this stage of their careers they suck because the coach is telling them they do then they chose the wrong occupation. Time for the million dollar babies to get off their asses and earn some of the fans support. These are adults not children. |

And neither did the two weak goals - Fakepartofme
I must have missed those. He's been hung out to dry. The entire D corps is completely disinterested in battling. Jacques Plante would have given up at least 2 goals in that period. |

It's Nonis or Carlyle.
If Nonis wants to keep his job, he's going to have to fire Carlyle by the end of the week at this rate.
Gardiner in the press box and THIS is the defense he has to watch? - Leeman4Gilmour
Nonis won't be going anywhere |

Kinda accurate statement... I had forgotten how much people whinged over the offensive orientation of RW. - Mr_Clean
I used to get crucified on here for arguing that the players didn't have the "systems" make up. Was labeled a huge RW apologist. |

If they miss the playoffs, I predict wholesale changes.
Leiweke will see it as the perfect opportunity to bring in his team of guys. He's the type of guy who wants his hand in it. That terrifies me, but so be it. - Leeman4Gilmour
I think it depends how the miss the playoffs. If they right the ship but fall just short, which is very much possible, I think small changes will be made.
Given the frustration of the fan base, however, a continued death spiral and I wouldn't be surprised if you were right. |

It's true. I do think though RC can be too micro managing, to the point where guys lose that loosness. You gotta be a little loosy goosy when you get that puck and have to make a split second decision. One of the reasons I feel this way is they snap it away too quick. It's been a while since I've seen anyone collect the puck, take their time make a nice crips pass, it's all rushed. I'm not saying it's all on RC but i think they might be a little tight right now, and he may be the reason. |

so stupid how Gardiner keeps getting benched...
IF you have to trade an offensive dman, REMOVE FRANSON NOW. He will demand HUGE Money (or get it through arbitration). Get an asset back. Give Gardiner that playing time. Its so simple.
REMOVE RANGER AND FRASER ASAP. Reward a defenseman in the Marlies |

Probably not mid-season, no. (Though, if it goes on much longer like this, who knows?)
But if the Leafs aren't playing playoff hockey in April, watch out. |

I mean at the management level. Leiweke will put all his puppets into place, using the failures under Nonis as his excuse. |

I wonder could the pendulum have swung too far to the protection mode now. Under Wilson it was way to aggressive, under RC maybe too passive now. |
