Rephrase: Those have b been three of our biggest issues over the past four years. Obviously we've had way more than that, but those are the ones that consistently come up. But just to throw out three names, if we had Price, Pietrangelo, and Kopitar on top of our roster we would obviously be competing way more. - freelancer
Maybe maybe not? Who would be out of our roster in their places? We can't get guys just because we want them. If we had those 3 we would have holes everywhere else. |

|
Not sure if sarcastic but hell I'll bite anyways. We've been the same 3 moves away from "being there" for the last 4 years. Top 6 forward with size, top defenseman, solid goaltender.... if we can't solve one of those in four years, my belief in us solving all in one go is low at best. - freelancer
Gregory was saying yesterday that they need a couple bigger top 6's, 3rd more D and at least 1st HAS to be a legit top pairing, and a goalie. I tend to agree with Gregor's analogies. That doesn't "not far off" to me. |

I know, just using those as an example to describe our entire organization. Our drafting record, our ability to make smart trades, these are the biggest holes still on this team. Back to my original point, I'm saying that those are our biggest needs and I don't see a way we can acquire all of those in one go. |

Whipper! Please do me a favour and post a couple fake trades; I really need something to make me excited about the Flames right now.
Thanks! |

I like every move of Mact except one so far. Lowe can go anytime but he's really just a Ken King that actually played...
Crosby yesterday in his interview said the Oilers are not very far off of being very good for a long time....

OHHHH Come on! WTF is he supposed to say?
Keep telling yourself that bro! |

I have not checked but I bet cammy is close to the same number of games missed to injury over the past 5 years... - Iggysbff
Ya but Hemksy is just a female dog..... end of story |

Did you miss the winky? I know they still have a few holes. And they aren't going to be quick and easy to fill. |

I heard all the rumors about Cammi as a cancer in the dessing room as well, but he seems to have really accepted the Flames are not a playoff team and that he is going to another team at the deadline and has done loads this year to help the young guys on the Flames roster |

Crosby just killed any chance he had as a future GM. |

I was at the game last night. I really don't agree with Hartley's post game comments. The flames were flat for ~40 minutes (basically everything outside of the 2nd period, which of course was when their attacking zone was opposite of my 'power-play' view seat). They looked gutless and sloppy. 32 shots but the majority were easy saves. They had some golden opportunities such as the one Vetts mentioned but all and all, it looked like everyone was trying to do it themselves. The team chem felt off.
Only players I was moderately impressed with were Hudler, Backs and Gio. Mony was invisible all game unfortunately. Stemp looked absolutely terrible. The amount of no-look passes that went tape to tape, to the other team, was astounding. These guys really need to get back to the fundamentals. However, after the terrible PP efforts in the 1st (dump with no chase???), I was pleasantly surprised to see them carry the line and maintain possession on the PP in the 2nd and the 3rd.
Only thing I can assume is the boys are so demoralized that Hartley didn't think a tough approach would do any good. I heard a few boo's last night, really glad the majority didn't pick them up tho. We all knew it would be bad...

Agreed. Stempniak looks lost out there. And as soon as they get behind, it's almost as if they panic and forget what has made them successful.

When does the fire sale begin? - Gerk
Burke got rid of Feaster and Wisebrod because it was going to slow....but now he's finding it difficult to find deals himself. |

You need to leave Mact out of it.
He has only been gm less than a year. Of 12 NHL trades this year he has made 4 of them. And imo has done well on all of them.... |

Where does this come from? It's no secret that Cammy wants to win, every player should. All these rumours started in Montreal when Cammy called out the team and said "We play like losers" which was 100% true at the time (I've said way worse things as a leader on my own teams to guys when we were playing like sh*t, things get said and you move on).
Winning in the NHL is more important than making sure you don't hurt someones feelings, and I have yet to see a report of Cammy being a "cancer" during his 1st or 2nd stint in Calgary, he's a skilled player who wants to win---who the hell doesn't want guys like that on their team?? |

He also left LA under bad circumstances and Calgary chose not to sign him the first time around due to the same in room issues. It follows him everywhere. |

Nope. Calgary decided to go after Bouwmeester and had cap issues... Therefore didn't sign Cammy. |

Dude, unless you have been in the locker room with those guys I'm calling bull s h I t. I'm tired of hearing your Cammi bashing. Did he forget to sign your sons player card at a signing or something? Did he nail ur wife? WTF! He was good friends with Iggy and others during his 1st and 2nd stints in CGY. Perhaps he had issues when younger but he's older now. He's had a kid. Get over it. |

You want us to give slack to MacT cause he has only been GM for a year but yet you want to bash Burke which he's been active GM for like a month???
HAHAHAHAHA........I used to like you man.......
