Canucks should just play the season out with no major moves. This summer, take the higher pick, start with new management and make changes to the core. The only window we have as of right now is staying competitive for years to come and we are struggling to keep that window open of late with more questions than confidence. There has to be big changes for a new window to open for Lord Stanley.
I understand we have a couple of quality prospects(no legends in the making) but the other than that, our aging core has certainly peaked and in coming years are going to be reduced to the role of leaders and support players. You can only go so far with that. Some may argue this has already been the case for a couple of years... |

Agreed. I think we collectively came to that conclusion last summer. - AlexF
I doubt Gillis gets fired without a major collapse. And by major collapse I mean an Oilers style effort. |

Id argue that another swift 1st round exist (3 in a row) would constitute a major collapse after a SCF run. If we`re not moving forward then the blame has to lie with the GM. I doubt the Aquillinis would be content to merely stand pat and continue watching their investment slide. |

How is it a major collapse if they lose in the 1st round for the 3rd straight year? Disappointing? Absolutely. But "major collapse?" Wouldn't that be more like "par for the course?"
The good things that Gillis has done since the end of last year far outweigh the bad. Tortorella, Santorelli, Richardson, Stanton, the draft, etc. |

Unless, as has been speculated, that the Aquillinis are the ones actually making the decisions: sign Luongo to 12 year contract, no buyouts, hiring Tortarella. If that's the case, what is one puppet GM going to do differently than the other? |

It should still be spring out here. Greater chance of golfing than skiing. If the family is driving you bonkers head up to Cumberland for a refreshing adult libation. |

Thanks for the blog, Carol.
Please don't ever mention Messiers name, again. Thank you. - Marwood
Makes you want to puke.
The only thing that would make it worse is seeing that 'C' on the jersey. |

I can't wait to see how we lose tonight. The old classic let them tie it late and lose in the shootout or a plain old ass kicking from the opening draw. |

Depends on how Backes reacts. He always seems to lose his head when he plays the canucks. Bit of a meathead.
At least Steens out. |

All depends on if St.Louis brings a handful of sand or a tube of Vaseline |

(frank), I wish Gillis could have acquired that SOB Backes when he was a RFA. |

3, maybe a slump buster though. Would be nice to see him go on a tear. |
