Big weekend for the Flyers. Both TB and the Rangers have give them a lot of trouble in recent years. |

Wow, you look at Tampa's lineup without Stamkos and Bishop and you wonder how they stay above .500. That being said, I expect a close game and a tough challenge for the Flyers today. I have a feeling this will be a 3 point game.
My pick: Flyers 3 Bolts 2 in OT with big Vinnie scoring the winner against his old pals!
Go Flyers! - BiggE
The lineup is not bad, it is more a case of new names that are not yet household names. Guys like Johnson, Palat, Killhorn, Kusherov are very good players, good enough that ahl allstar Brett Connolly can not seem to overtake. I like the Flyers chances today with Lindback in goal. Bishop is the real key as he has been simply fantastic this year. Go flyers, take it to them early and keep the peddle down. |

Matt Carle > Mark Streit - Tomahawk
Matt Carle has the weakest point shot in the league and was only good along Pronger. Without Pronger he was useless. Streit is settling in and playing much better lately, and he can shoot the puck. |

I know "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but I'd like to see Lecavalier play a game with Giroux and Voracek on the LEFT side to try to wake him up offensively. He's playing strong defensively with Downie and Couturier, but he's a goal scorer. To me, it's a waste of his talents to see him playing wing with Couturier. - TonyBazz
Well said Tony, I agree 100%. Raffl is playing well but Vinny needs to play with guys like 28+93. He would make that line even more dangerous. |

Yes. 'Cause it sounds like he keeps saying "Mups--Mups--Mups"
It's god awful.
They could play 'Barbie Girl' and I'd find that more entertaining than that terrible, awful, no good, very bad song. |

He might not be comfortable at LW, but I don't see how he doesn't play better with Giroux and Voracek. It's worth a shot because if he finds his game with G and Jake; then that be huge for this team. Then have the best third line in the NHL when Read comes back. Raffl would be better suited for a temporary fill in on the 3rd until Read returns anyways. Put Vinny on the top line and then watch a true first line catch fire and win games. |

Raffl is bette for what that 1st line needs. It makes it a complete line on both ends of the ice. Raffl brings the necessary grit, speed, and 2 way ability that Lacavalier can't. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Stick with the top 2 lines. Our 3rd line is scary to watch with the mismatched pieces right now, cant wait till Read gets back.
Hoping the Flyers keep the foot on the pedal, I kind of get the feeling they have been lucky to win a lot of these games as the play on the ice has been even. Hopefully the puck continues to bounce our way. |

Carle could actually move the puck with aplomb (even when paired w/ Coburn, not just Pronger), he could actually play D, and didn't routinely leave his partner out to dry to cheat up the ice on breakouts.
Streit is Marc-Andre Bergeron/Andy Delmore with a fatter wallet. |

Just a state of the game post as I await puck drop:
Anyone else notice how NHL standings out West seem to be skewed because of the disproportionate number of "loser points" awarded.
East, with two more teams (80+ more games played), only have 2 more OT points than the West. And a third of all the East's loser points come from three teams (a former Western Conference team) the Red Wings with 10, Hurricanes with 9, and the loser Devils with 9.

Lecavalier doesn't provide grit? Are you listening to yourself? He's better than Raffl at pretty much everything and he's just as gritty, if not more. Good point about Read coming back and playing on that line. So what happens then? Lecavalier gonna play 4th line because Raffl is a "better fit", according to you? That's ridiculous. All three lines are playing well right now, so I'm not complaining, but I have a great argument about how Vinny should be on the top line instead of Raffl. They should switch places in my opinion. Lecavalier-Giroux-Voracek would be a more legit top line than Raffl-Giroux-Voracek. And Raffl-Couturier-Downie would make a great third line. |
