I'm not saying they will trade Miller to the caps . But if they did what are the chances that the would include Kuznetsov? |

NHL.com reports that Cody Hodgson will return tomorrow (as will Ville Leino) against the Capitals and that Grigorenko has been sent back to the Quebec Remparts for the remainder of this season. |

Here's my best-case scenario for a Miller trade...
Ryan Miller, Luke Adam and Mikhail Grigorenko
to
Detroit
for
Jimmy Howard, Gustav Nyquist and Anthony Mantha
Sabres may have to include a conditional draft pick based on whether or not Miller signs an extension with the Red Wings... but I would be fairly confident, if I were Detroit in that case.
Howard is 4 years younger than Miller and signed for just over $5 million per year for the next 4-5 years. He would be able to split games with Enroth more evenly (46/36 type of split) than is currently expected with Miller. Howard has done well with better teams than Miller has typically played on in the past, but this year is not one of his better seasons and the Wings didn't sign Alfredsson to lose early in the playoffs. The Sabres are giving up the more "sure thing" in net... so a change of scenery for Adam and Grigorenko in return for Nyquist (year older than Adam) and Mantha. Adam put up similar numbers to Nyquist when he was given his first real shot in 2011-12 season and his stats are comparable to Nyquist in the AHL... while Detroit would likely develop Grigorenko better than Buffalo has so far, as they've had much better success developing young European players (especially Russians) over the years. His stats in the Q are similar to Mantha's and both just did very well in the WJC in Sweden. |

What else should they do with him? Darcy created this mess, Grigo wasn't ready. I wouldn't keep him up with the Sabres either at this point. |

They should have worked this out before sending him down. The Q should never have been an option. |

The Q shouldnt have been an option. They need to develop a special case rule for kids who got nothing left to prove in Junior's and let them play in the AHL. Like letting underagers play in the CHL. |

Then all of the best players would leave at 18 and the CHL would lose tons of revenue. They'd never agree to it |

Loan him to the KHL where he can play against good talent, and play regularly. It is a risk that he doesn't come back, but he needs to play to get better. If he soesn't play here he will never improve, and his lack of fire/compete level doesn't fit with Teddy's culture change. Let him go and see what happens. |

Does anybody think that this might be some shifty move by the braintrust to force the Q to release grigo so he can play in the ahl? |
