Does anybody think that this might be some shifty move by the braintrust to force the Q to release grigo so he can play in the ahl? - FIREonICE
It might be but would be a bad precident set by the Q. Other teams might try this same tactic. |

for our purposes, I hope it is. I can imagine they'll stay away from the Q if they can, but honestly this scenario is just darcy doing something stupid that created a huge problem, so even if we had future players in the Q, i don't see any further issues for us at least.
It's sickening to me to think that Darcy threw the kids to the wolves for the sake of his own jobs. He could have very easily ruined 3-4 prospects which would have screwed him over anyways. I guess he was being optimistic about how they'd turn out but it's a terrible move. |

So are we talking a re-rebuild for Buffalo? ... wasn't this started 2 years ago? ... Feel so sorry for you guys ... Your GM really screwed you gyus up before being kick out of the door.
Grigo will go in th KHL and never set foot here again ... he will retire juts like Ovi will in 2-3 years ... |

Then all of the best players would leave at 18 and the CHL would lose tons of revenue. They'd never agree to it - muffin_man
There is a ton of talented kids. But like I said. A special rule. There arent alot of kids in Grigo shoes. Sure there are others. But not many that gain nothing from playing in the CHL. Grigo needs to be in the AHL or Europe at this point. |

Darcy brought them a ton of youth with good upside. Lots of draft picks aswell. |

First of all, this is the epitome of Darcy loser REGIER. Every gm let grigorenko fall. There was obvious questions on his compete level and skating. REGIER then kept him up last year and the start of this year and never play one game with top line guys and minutes. He plays withjohn Scott,Cody McCormick, when he does play. Here is a great stat. Leino,McCormick,Ellis, dagostini, porter,Omari,Scott and Larsson....144 games played 4 goals. Grigorenko 18 games 2 goals, averaging 8 Min a game with the junk mentioned above. Grigorenko for better or worse is a spoiled brat and I believe didn't hustle playing with those guys. In his mind ( which isn't smart) thought I am better then this and I won't compete. So now sabres, you have a dilemma. How can you play Leino, stafford and dagostini the minutes they play and never give grigorenko a chance |

Sucks for the Sabres however Grigorenko's immaturity is glaring at this point. If the Q is your only option and your a hockey player, you go play hockey. Unfortunately the past GM put this guy up on a pedestal and now the damage is almost unfixable. In the meantime Grigorenko's been collecting a hefty pay check for a kid. He is not Sabre material at this point start shopping him. |

I think most on here, at this point, would agree that this is likely leading to a trade... pretty good test for Murray. See if he can salvage something even close to fair value considering the circumstances they just painted themselves into. I have felt ever since the Sabres passed on Nichushkin in the draft that their impression of Grigorenko influenced the decision. If they really believed in Grigo, they would have brought Nichushkin in to help support his comfort-level and growth (not to mention the guy's potential upside). It's unfortunate, but Grigo has gotta go. |

If this is true than phase one is complete
Phase two would be for the Quebec Ramparts to put Mikhail Grigorenko on waiver after that 59 other teams from the chl will get an opportunity to claim his right. Rember the Rampart don't have a roster spot for him.
Phase three is the sabres must wait 24 hours.
Question
Does this hurt the chl
Aswer
No
Reason
Because mikhail grigorenko is to good for the chl there is nothing the chl can do for him and if he go's back it then takes time away from the other players and that is what is important.
Question
Do i think mikhail grigorenko is ready for the nhl
Aswer
No
Question
Is he ready for the ahl

He'd be perfect for the ahl and he could learn with armia which would be good because I want those two to develop chemistry so they can go to the 2nd line in 2 years with girgensons. also figure that if those guys are our 2nd line then we've drafted a wealth of 1st line talent at that point.

good for him. This organization has done nothing to develop him. There is no reason he cant play here except Nolan hates young talented players. Look at our top 9. Really,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, |

If you think any of the names I mentioned on here are in the same class as Datsyuk and Zetterberg, you need to watch more hockey.
I'm not saying that trade would or wouldn't work out... but Miller IS better than Howard (not even debatable) and has shown in the past that he can raise his game to the challenge, which is exactly what Detroit will face in the playoffs. So, in order for the Red Wings to significantly upgrade in goal and the fan excitement of bringing home a local hero... you have to give something of value. Nyquist has put up 23 points in 59 games (not exactly superstar material... and clearly not in the class of Datsyuk or Zetterberg)... Adam has outscored him in the AHL and had 20 points in 52 games back in 2011-12 (on a team with less support than Nyquist) and he's a year younger. Grigorenko's stats in the Q are fairly comparable (points and/or goals per game) to Mantha's. So, really, why the ridicule? I really don't see how any of this compares at all to wanting superstars like Datsyuk and Zetterberg?! - djc1877
Mantha's value right now is at an all time high, Grigorenko is at an all time low. Nyquists value is much higher than Adams as well. You act like points in junior and minor leagues are all that decides a players value. |

With all do respect did you watch him in the world jrs, he looked good at times and at other times was completely lost.
This was with competition his age or younger, he needs to regain that consistency somewhere besides the NHL. Nolan is instilling hard work and effort, the kid has shown very little. He shys away from hits and lags behind the play, then when does get posession of the puck it is easily taken away from him. He is a decent size kid that plays very small, that won't garner him well in the NHL. From the Sabres perspective he is now not only rebelling against a system on the ice but now he is doing it off as well. No room for this in a team game. |

They don't score. John Scott, DAgostini, Linus Omark, Ville Leino are on this team.
So if we get Reinhardt should I expect him in the Jr. because of maturity.
People confuse hard work with production. Matt Ellis and Cody McCormick stink but they work real hard. For years people say Ovechkin loafs and is great. |

Best thing for Grigerenko. The Joe Sacoo 1-2-2 trap is for guys who muck. Talented players not welcome |
