Ok, I get it. You all hate the Kings, and I agree Nolan turning into a turtle was bullpoop. But Brown running over Luongo? You mean when your defenseman hit him into Luongo? And Brown fought Kesler well before the slewfoot. (I admit I didn't get home until the first intermission, so I have no idea if the Nucks were trying to get him to drop the whole first) I'm hearing a lot of "the slewfoot was cheap but..." It was cheap. The turtle was pathetic. No need to qualify either of those.

Yes. Brown was asked to fight earlier but he pussied out (what a surprise). Brown knew exactly what he was doing when he "fell" on Luongo. You're naive if you think otherwise. I agree, no room for slewfooting. Nolan and Weise should be ashamed of their slew foots. I think people are arguing that had Nolan not turtled then there wouldn't be need to cheap shot Doughboy.

That's pretty much how it has always gone in hockey hasn't it? Maybe you'll feel differently if we start taking runs at Monahan then turtling.

So orpik got what he deserved ?

No one wants to see your star players ran but I see the Nolan hit as more of a miss then a slew foot or knee ... Sedin got out of the way ... Almost

As for brown ... He is a dirty dirty player too but the second a defenseman pushes a guy into his own goalie he becomes more at fault then the other guy ... Yes brown probably didn't hold up but that just brings up the question why are you pushing a dirty player into your goalie ??

Torts is a genius! Leads the team to a 1-6 run over the last 7 games and has the whole city rallying about how "tough" they are and "statement" game. The only statement I hear is "suck". Must be rough having to play in a real division, huh? No more President's Cups I guess.

You would think a fan of the Kings would know how important of a barometer regular season success is.

Did Sestito attack Nolan from behind after the whistle?

I guess it's ok to take runs at players as long as you miss them.

As for Brown, sure he got shoved but if you think for a second he didn't take full advantage of the situation to hit him as hard as he could then you're nuts.

The game probably would have been much more tame had Hank just let him drill him and take out his knees. I see your point.
- golfingsince

You were arguing that if the refs would have called the kings on dirty plays then the game wouldn't have got out of hand ... I'm just saying I think sedin did a good job of avoiding the hit and no penalty should have been called

Look I get exactly why the Canucks were mad at these players ... Just saying if you know brown will do what he did then why push him in ?

I'm not saying sestito is close to what thorton did but the premise is similar ..

A light breeze would have been enough to send Brown into Lou.

The bigger issue is when fans of other teams act all holier than thou without realizing their team does the exact same thing, or in certain cases, worse. Especially when we're talking dirty playing or diving. For the most part, the Canucks have taken the diving out of their game. Some Kings fans come onto the Canucks threads and toss the diving claim around when they've got one of the worst offenders in the league. Honestly, between him and Marchand, I don't know who's worse. Kesler was horrible in the past, and the Canucks fans fully realized this and were embarrassed by his actions. Both him and Lapierre gave the team a bad name which is taking longer than it should to get rid of.

Everyone here is agreeing that the slew foot was cheap. No one is arguing about that.

Is this a new concept to you? How long have you been a hockey fan? A guy from the other team takes a run and slew foots your star player, he needs to be ready to pay for it or get ready for his team mates to get cheap shotted. There's too many of these rats in the league who run around taking shots at other teams star players then refuse to answer for it. Nolan had that coming. That's the way the game is played.

Been watching long enough to agree that your right about what you should do ... Just think Nolan's play wasn't dirty ... Could have been but wasn't

So he should get a free pass because he missed him.

It should be fun when they visit here. Canucks need to put on a show at home like that one.
- golfingsince

That would get at least 20 people cheering at Rogers. They'd need to send in the silence brigade to restore order.

Your answer is about right ... Some are trying to defend him ... I just see no defense for it

They really shoukd do a 24/7 with these two teams next year

- Redmile247

Odds of 2 Western Teams in 24/7 would be roughly 0%. That said, with both Detroit and TO refusing access to the film crew at various times this season, HBO might decide to not even run another season.
