Ott, maybe?
Although, he shifts to wing after draws.
Buffalo would want a 1st, which IMO, is too much considering he's a UFA.
He's also having a pretty bad season to date. - Fosco
Only if Gillis is 90% sure he can re-sign him. Giving up a 1st round pick for a soon to be 32 year old 3rd line pending UFA doesn't seem like a great idea. A 2nd+ if Gillis is confident he can extend him is something that I wouldn't mind. |

Would love for us it grab Ott. Might not cost a draft pick, Buffalo already has a boat load of them for this year and next. The might consider a more nhl ready alternative. How about Schroeder for Ott? - Chest Rockwell
I highly doubt Schroeder straight up gets you Ott. |

|
|
Anyone else find it odd that Torts has no problem playing Dalpe with the Sedins but adamantly refuses to give Kassian a consistent look there? - Chest Rockwell
Hank's injured finger/wrist means another centre has to plat on that line until he can take faceoffs again. Kass seems to be playing better on the rush, I don't have a problem with it. |

I'd like to see Sestito and Weise take out Brown and Doughty with a solid set of punches to the head. |

Kassian Kesler and Higgins is a more effective combination. Although, I'd like to see Kesler Kassian and Santorelli become the first line for the team. |

Try to get some time to negotiate ahead of time?
Agreed that there should be no rentals, unless the price is literally peanuts...or Booth. |

Higgins lack of offensive creativity/vision kills a lot of potential scoring chances off of the rush, he's a very good 3rd liner being forced into a 2nd line role. Ditto with Hansen. Kassian and Kesler with a good offensive 3rd line mate is intriguing. |

Or take a run at their goalie. Something that says that the Canucks will not be a bunch of panty-wastes getting bullied by LA. |

Since Ott is a natural LW, Higgins would have to be moved elsewhere eventually for that to make sense as well. Unless the long-term plan is to keep Higgins at LW2. |

Maybe as an add on.
My guess is they'd want a W prospect, as they have some depth at C.

I'd just try Ott at C, rather than shifting him to W after draws. |

I don't feel that this years roster has enough jam to make any noise in the playoffs this year, especailly against teams like LA, Chi, Ana, St. Louis. If Gillis can make a hockey trade that will improve the roster for next year then go for it. I just hope he doesn't start trading away prospects and picks at the TDL for 3rd line centers and depth players. - fiveandagame
Agreed about this year's roster. Would love to have Ott moving forward, though. |

Gillis can say that he literally made "chicken salad out of chicken poop".
Casey Printers would be proud. |

It really doesn't matter who plays with the twins, it will still result in the same production. Putting Dalpe, Weise, Sestito or whomever would be the same as putting Kassian.
Look at the 1st line in Pitsburgh, some plugs named Gibbons and Kunitz are put there... - Scooby_Doo

Exactly. Did Kassian spit in Tort's soup or something? - we_are_all_canucks
Torts has said He does not want Kass to be pressured. Vancouver fans have high expectations for Kass . Everyone is looking at him under a microscope. If Dalphe fails everyone says Who? If Kassian fails with the Sedins ,then he is a bust

I am really hoping to see Sestito accidentally crash into Quick and take him out for a month or two. Kopitar is also a good candidate for an accidental injury. Every game Brown goes after one of Canucks top players and throws Canucks right off their game. This is why Canucks do not match up well against this team. They are not concentrating on hockey.
St Louis has a big team and we keep up with them because they are not pulling all kinds of crap. Canucks need to instigate instead of trying to retaliate. |
