Is there any chance Marty asks to get moved this summer
If not - does he re-sign with the Bolts after next year? |

Pretty amazing how good Bishop is for a giant. Usually there is some weakness to a big goalies game, whether its foot speed, post to post play, i honestly don't see any part of his game that is bad. If he stays healthy, and getting a healthy Stamkos back, gonna be a scary team. |

In my opinion Marty St Louis will be a Bolt until he retires, his contract is team friendly and the management would never move him after moving Vinny. Plus Marty wants to be a Bolt and retire a Bolt. I think people are putting way to much into the Olympic snub from Yzerman to think Marty wants out of Tampa. He loves Tampa, his family loves Tampa, the Lightning will continue to sign him to 1 year deals until he decides to put the skates up. Marty and Vinik are on the up and up.

What no love for Bugsy? He played one helluva game last night, glad to see him chipping in some tough work on the boards all night. Boy has the opposition beat up Killorn the last two nights , they sure had him in their sights. I love reading all the Rags fans crying over the penalty call, weak maybe but everyone gets them, I think the idea is to kill them off rather than cry about them and their justification that it was only a 9 second gap that lost them the game. I guess they're used to Henrik too much because he's been stealing games for them for years but another goalie can't play lights out and be the difference. Home for 4 out of the next 5 time to put up some points heading into the Olympic break. We were all looking for this team to play .500 til Stammer came back, I for one didn't think we could play this well with him out. - tpd11
Definitely one of Bugsy's best games in a while. |

Nice writeup, Mike!
Nobody wanted to listen this offseason when i insisted in a few threads the lightning would be a top team in the division this year, but here we are! And all without Stammer for months.
Very impressive squad Stevie Y made up here, hoping this bodes well for his olympic team makeup even though I disagreed with some of it.
My division prediction for the four playoff spots were:
Boston
Tampa
Ottawa
Montreal
with Detroit and Toronto just missing. Looking quite possible now! - TommyDeVito
Thanks!
I picked Toronto to finish 6th in the division and people laughed at me. I don't feel so stupid anymore.

Bishop's just excellent at what he does. Conacher and a 4th. Oh boy. - Michael_Stuart
Remember last year when the "professional" analysts were saying that Bishop's numbers were inflated playing on Ottawa? Bishop was a stud there too, we just had three guys who were all shining in the crease. Good to see he's got a legit chance to be a number 1 somewhere. |

and its a "relief" to have him as well, you don't know (well yeah, you do) how nice it is to have a (frank)ing goalie that can steal games when ur playing off....its been years |

filppula on pace for 60+ pts
not bad for a 2C who plays the defensive side of the puck just as good if not better...contributions all around |

Although I really love how much Filppula contributes offensively so far, and how good he's been playing defensively, what amazes me the most about him is his ability to carry the puck in the offensive zone and keep control of the puck. Its great to watch how everytime he has the puck, everything seems to slow down. It baffles me the Red Wings thought Weiss was superior to Filppula. |

This I can't recall the Lightning ever having a player who could consistently hold onto the puck like he does. Very rare to see someone take it off him. |

Enjoy it cuz for another 2 seasons he will mostly contribute on the defensive side. It will be frustrating and you will wonder where the flip of this year is. Unless he finds his offensive consistency in Tampa bay. I hope he does. I always liked him even if he would do something awesome score or set up a goal and then disappear for stretches |
