CCM is reviving the Tacks skate brand. John Tavares and Nate MacKinnon will endorse.

In 1937, CCM acquired the Tackaberry brand made by a Manitoban named George Tackaberry and "Tacks" have been the company's signature skate until late 2006, when the Tacks line was replaced with the "Vector" line, then the "U+" line, and now the "RBZ" line.

Wondering if some of the locals could maybe help me out with some travel tips. Myself and a group of 6-7 guys (settle down Weirdoh) are making a trip to Montreal the weekend of Feb 1st. The only one of us that is familair with the city is big into clubs, the rest of us would rather just go to a pub. Just looking for a few suggestions. Maybe somewhere with local craft beer on tap? We are staying right next to the Bell Center. Also wheres the best spot for smoked meat? I've hear Schwartz's but i get the feeling that might be the "tourist" spot.
thanks in advance

Look for Symba's corner near the bell for a good meat smoking.

I have the Vapors from Bauer.

Never had skates that hurt my feet so much.

I've been enduring them for the last 3 years.... I may very well buy a new pair soon.

Dunn's and Reuben are good for smoked meat.

For beer, you got Benelux on Sherbrooke, St-Bock and L'amère à boire (mainly Czech-inspiration beers) on St-Denis and Brutopia on Crescent. Brutopia is nearer, but the selection at St-Bock is far better.

It's just less of a show, and I find the meat better. Just an opinion.
