They have abandoned the aggressive forecheck style that made them successful through most of last season and the change had to be implemented by Therrien. I am quite biased with my dislike for him as a coach but the fact remains that he somehow believed that playing more like a Jacques Martin team was the way to go. Did that come from Bergevin? I hope not.

It seems to happen with any coach in recent years.

Even Carbo's style in his first season was an agressive forecheck, then when he was fired he was trying to play tight defense and playing not to lose.

Maybe it's the players, or maybe the coach is saying play more defense which actually leads to the players not taking chances and sitting back and playing worse defense.
