My hope: Briere panned out exactly as planned. The QPs of the fan base demanded a big named frenchie so he went out to get one (sorta) with the knowledge that it wouldnt work. Seeing this failure, all of the QPs will take their (frank)wad glasses off and realize we need to be good to win, we dont need to be french to win. MB brilliantly sacrificed 2 years and $8M for the greater, long term good of the franchise

They have abandoned the aggressive forecheck style that made them successful through most of last season and the change had to be implemented by Therrien. I am quite biased with my dislike for him as a coach but the fact remains that he somehow believed that playing more like a Jacques Martin team was the way to go. Did that come from Bergevin? I hope not.
