I'd be all in for a rental player that has good potential to re-sign, like the Kovalev trade.

Gonchar's 3y/$15M will be the starting point IMO.

Or Streit's 4y/$21M

- _nay_

Maybe, but he shouldn't play more than 3 years before retirement hence the 5y/18M$. 6,5,4,2,1 per year so he gets 15M$ the first 3 years and help the team with a 3,6M cap hit.

Wouldn't mind replacing Eller with Stastny.

If the said rental is Callahan then yes. Who did you have in mind, just curious.

As long as he sits Bourque, Brière and Diaz i would be fine with it. I just don't get why they don't give a chance to Pateryn.
- Habsody

i wonder how much is coaching too. when you see the dmen constantly backing up, giving up the blueline with no opposition, giving a free pass into the slot area, letting guys crash the crease...

This guy will retire a Hab and rightfully so. I believe he will come at a friendly cap hit (longer term like 5y/18M$).

No one would but i would prefer to give the 3rd line center duty to Galchenyuk when he comes back.

I think there's something in the CBA about the drop from year 1 to the last...

EDIT: see Symba's post for details.

agreed that lands on him squarely and its been going on all season, one of the reasons I don't see PK getting any Norris consideration

Considering how the management is so high on DD and with Plekanec's tenure this year where would you slot them?
