What is his potential?

Right now he is a third line center scoring 30-40 points.

Looking for similar players that are of the same age/position. The two that come to mind becuase they have been talked about recently would be Gagner and Kadri.

Both of them are playing top 6 mins this year and scoring 40ish for Gagner and 50ish for Kadri.

Kadri has a higher "potential", Gagner is a better two way player due mainly to his longer tenure in the NHL. Eller is not far off production wise from either of them.

So what are habs fans expecting from Eller?
He is not as good as Plekanec, and Pussieretty cries when he can't feel dd on his ankle.
That keeps him stuck in 3 spot playing with Moen and Bourque and you would have to be a generational star quality player to light it up with those two.

- 2gals1dane

Wasn't he playing with Galchenyuk and Gallagher/Prust for large chunks of the year???

And even playing in the "3" spot the only player we know he won't play with are DD-Pacioretty and Plekanec-Gionta duos...

Eller's a frustrating guy...seems like he has everything needed to take the next step, yet he's 24 and we are still waiting on that. My thinking on trading him is that when he's 26-27 and still at the same stage, he won't be worth much...so unless we really do see him as being a 3rd line center his entire career and accepting that, he should be moved.

Yep. Funny, creative, fresh compared to the same crap from Leno every night.

That said, if I don't have a late game to play, I'm asleep by 11.

You guys serious?

Haven watched his stuff, but I never found him funny (SNL, movies, appearances)...so I just figured his show sucked like everything else he does.

Well let's be honest. When a guy is as funny, charming and quick-witted as you are, it's really unfair for you to judge others.

Le seul changement aux trios par rapport au match d'hier, c'est que Bournival grimpe sur le 3e trio et Prust descend sur le 4e.

Les trios du #CH ce matin:
Pacioretty-Eller-Gallagher;
Moen-Plekanec-Gionta;
Bourque-Brière-Bournival,
Prust-Parros

They will probably have to add an extra hour because it's unbelievable how long he giggles for after his own (obviously unfunny) jokes.

He played with those guys for the first month, and as soon as other teams targeted that line as it was the only line producing they split them up.

But i'm not wanting to argue the whos and whats, just want to know what people think his potential is. Right now I don't see him far off, he will end up with close to 40 points. If he played top line mintues more, he would get maybe another 10.

He isn't causing them to lose games, and seems do to the job he is given, needs work on faceoffs still.

He is just an average player with size, some skill and isn't as slow as a mule.
