What if these were the peramiters (spelling?) for the deal, EXCEPT, instead of Ladd it was Buff?
Seems like any time a rumor comes out, usually something completely different (if anything) happens. |

I dont like pitbulls. Or boxer dogs. Just dont trust them. Same with German shepards, i think theyre all cool looking and ive met a few of each that werent aggressive at all, however, like i said, i just dont trust them |

Ladd is signed thru 16 I think. Maybe Chevy carries some of the salary due to the talent coming back? Agree, I doubt it gets done.
I would really hate to see TT go as I think he can extend their Cup window as can a healthy 13 playoff Bickell. Question is how much Bickell helps this year. If Ladd brings them closer this year where they still look to be among the top 3 or 4 teams in the NHL SB has to be tempted.
OTOH - If Bickell cannot handle the work with the 2 knee braces then maybe he needs to go back on LTIR. Use his space for a rental 2c. These mind games and potential scratches seem a waste when he is obviously claiming the injuries are holding him back. - steelhead

Much more likely if in fact it is a physical issue.
As for your other point Bowman will have to be more than tempted to part with any top prospect.....Because there isn 't any one on the roster that will be traded unless the club really sputters.
At this point with a bad knee or two and his contract who would want to trade for Bickell and Bowman can't afford to eat any of his salary now. It is also too early to give up on Bickell.
Sometimes it's not meant to be, Av's win in OT 3-2. Next stop for Bickell a scratch?

I don't see this going down for many reasons....The point is the Hawks are perceived to be stuck with Bickell so throw in an excellent prospect and then it should work....Bowman isn't going to pay $4 mill+ Ladd the same way he didn't do so for Vertseeg....
If Bickell turns out to be a bust Bowman will eat some salary and send him packing at some point is my guess....Probably too early to sign off on Bickell.

You can be sure that the Hawks know all about the problems on the Jets thru their past affiiliation with Chevy and for sure because a player like Ladd probably stays in close contact with a number of the players. He may have said or texted something like 'man would I ever like to get out of here' and half the team would know it.
Chevy can ask for TT but he will have to give up something of equivalent potential and age to get him, like a Scheiffle which he won't do.
I can see Bowman moving a McNeill and a Swedish Icehog to get something he wants but thats about it.

P.S. for a Canadian city lucky to get its hockey team back...the Jets blog suffers from EMBARRASSINGLY low participation
It's January on the prairies. We're all wearing Jets jerseys and practicing toe drags, lacrosse shots and taking head high clappers on the outdoor rink! Where do you think Toewes learned to play Also, not too many Peggers know this site. The Winnipeg online papers get most of the chat, as does twitter and the workplace.
And if he is so good and such a strong leader, why would he be available. Just to shake things up? No, it would be because he isn't the leader and captain they hoped he would be.
- AceRatbang
It's possible that that's exactly what it could be. It might not be about leadership at all.
A lot of fans are disillusioned with Ladd as captain. Noel, while maybe not the greatest coach, was very well liked in Winnipeg. His firing was understood, but the players were also seen as disrespectful to the point a good man lost his job. I would be okay with Ladd fetching us a prospect in return. We need to core this rotten apple. |

In related monetary ridiculousness, major league baseball has another batsh*t crazy contract story. The Dodgers extended pitcher Clayton Kershaw for 215 MILLION DOLLARS over 7 years, or an annual hit of 30.7 MILLION DOLLARS per year.

At least we didn't sign Ryane Clowe and his 8 points for $4.85 million
Bickell, Stalberg, Clowe: All pretty bad contracts across the board. |

One thing to remember....people keep bringing up the fact there is no guarantee TT becomes an elite player.....which is true and very could be a bust.
However, there is also no guarantee we win a cup by adding Andrew Ladd. He would be nice to have...but if we don't win the cup which is more likely than winning one.......meaning there are lot of variables .....health, luck, etc......we just gave up our most elite prospect who lit it up in the WJ's and would've been a top five pick had he entered the draft a year later than he originally did.....just some food for thought.
I'm not a fan of the rumored deal.....however if we can resign Rusty.....I'm on board. - UnnamedSource
I think we need to give him 5-30 games to see what we have in him first. |
