Counteroffer with Hartman instead of TT. - faustus1500
i don't think Hartman has the advertised upside that Teravainen has. |

This deal passes the sniff test. Ladd's and Bickell's salaries almost match. The Hawks likely feel TT is a RW in the NHL. Hossa looked like he was 25 last night, and then there's Kane. Good source on this one. - John Jaeckel
Ladd would be nice. Very nice .
Who is Jimmy Lodge ?
How long is Ladd signed for ? |

J'sus that is a steep price.
Thanks, as usual, for a realistic perspective.
Too many guys write stuff suggesting that they can do deals at little cost. There are only a few teams outside the playoff hunt. Sellers control the market.
Would be a great add for the Hawks and Jets. If fans on both sides squawk you know it is close to realistic. |

I'd love to have Ladd back, he's first on my list of all the guys I'd want back from the Purge.
However, Teravainen is a steep price to pay. But then again if you want quality you have to give up quality.
I know this doesn't solve the 2C dilemma but is that a big deal? We won a Cup without a 2C. There some viable options to fill the 2C role in Shaw, Versteeg and Kruger, at least in the short term.
This isn't an east decision to make, but I say....do it!
Edit: Thanks for the rumor JJ!! |

Well I guess I stand corrected about Bickell. I don't really like this idea personally but if it's for the "greater good."
Why not trade for Buff and Niemi while we are at it? Why do we so desperately want to be the 2010 Hawks again? |

I didn't see the part about TT considered a wing in NHL. |

Especially when the 2013 Hawks were so much better. |

Does Win view Ladd as someone that isn't part of their future? And Bickell is? |

It's more of Winnipeg views Teravainen and the 1st round pick as the future. Bickell would just be along for the ride, and if Bickell finds his game then that would be a bonus.
That's how I would view it. |

The'd get Bickell for a bit less per year and he's under contract for one more year. I'm sure Bickell has to be included to make this work cap-wise but the Jets main motivation would be rebuilding around TT. |

Seems a little steep to me.
Don't like giving up TT. I know he's not proven yet, but he really looked like the real deal to me watching the jr tourney.
Think our prospects drop way down in quality without him.
You do it for a Cup, I'm not convinced Ladd does that, but he would help a lot.
Tough decision for me, guess that's why I'm not GM.
Figured it was Evander Kane |

Give them the rights to Visnovsky back too.
Would prefer a sniff at Cormier instead of Lodge, but was heartbroken when Ladd was moved.
My take on positives:
Unload Bicks and his $4 mil salary for $550k production
Get a known leader and PF in Ladd
minimal cap hit ramifications
Negatives:
Lose TT
Really think that small and skilled can be sacrificed for a true top 6 leader.
My vote. Done deal |

If the Jets did a deal that included Bickell, they just might turn around and flip him. Obviously, they would love Tervainainen, but Bickell could be worth a lot more to team like Montreal that desperately wants to do something being badly undersized. |

You also lose a first round pick. And Ladd is almost 30.. I get he adds a lot right away but TT is a huge plan for the Hawks future. And we are still a really good team right now...
