Brandon Pirri factored in like 3 points for Kane all year. Kane's longer point streak was with Handzus, but ignore that. And you realize Stan is in charge of the roster right? Q has never and will never send anyone down to Rockford - rollpards19
To date, Michael Handzus has yet to be on the ice for a Patrick Kane even strength goal. He was on the ice for a PP goal or two. But every other goal has been during a line change. Meanwhile, the Corsi numbers between Pirri and Handzus are a wide gap in favor of Pirri.
But this isn't even about Pirri. This is about THE ORGANIZATION'S call ( whether it's Q, Stan, Stan-Q, Mcd, all of the above, who ever....) to cut the rookie's playing down and over relying on veterans.
HellSay what you will about Morin, Pirri, et al...... But when they were here, the Hawks were dominating the league. Since they've been gone ( I'm outta my head, can't take it) they've come back to the pack. Want to blame that all on fatigue? Be my guest. I think it's more than fair to dig a little deeper. Otherwise, feel free to sit around and wait for the next worthless Chris Kuc tweet...... |

Isn't that what some people are arguing? Whether it's better or worse?
Stan said all off and pre-season was that the plan was to have the kids play. Just one kid is playing. And Q is riding his veterans. And that would be fine if e was playing ALL his veterans. Kris Versteeg played all of 8 minutes despite being 100% Corsi. 100 percent! While Kris Versteeg was on the ice the Blackhawks shot 12 shots on Varlarmov and not a single shot was registered against Crawford, and yet he rides the pine. Same with Bickell. Which is strange because if you're at these games ( And I've been fortunate to be...) Bickell has been really good on the forecheck. But that hasn't prevented him from going into Q's doghouse.
I think overriding the veterans might prove harmful come April. Of course, I can't prove that until the playoffs.
There was a unanimous feeling among this board that Q should pick some players and stick with them. We argued over who those players should be....Nordstrom, Pirri, Morin.. but they're all in Rockford. Morin is still one of the best hawks in CORSI and drawing penalties, which you think a team based on puck possession and a good PP might want.....Nope. Patrick Kane had his best stretch this year with Pirri as his centerman......nope. Nordstrom had a deer in the headlights look with the Hawks, but from all reports he seem to be excelling at the Rock. But they sit while Handzus wheezes and Bickell and Steeger's ice time melts faster than ice in the sun.
Yes, of course it's not all on Q. But I think we're allowed to have an opinion on whether they're the right moves or not.... - yahoodi
Hi Yahoodi,
I was not suggesting or attempting to stifle any discussion on this blog. I was suggesting that it take a different direction other than the beating to death of the reason why Pirri, Morin, etc. are not up with the big club is a personal one and not talent evaluation.

For those involved in Olympic chatter and are curious as to how Canada could look when they hit the ice in Sochi... have a look:

I'm sure there will be a lot of switching around like Toews being called upon to be on a shutdown line with Sharp and Nash or something like that but you get the jist.

Agreed, and I wasn't trying to paint a whole picture with Corsi because the eye test did a lot of the work for me. I remember what the Hawks looked like when Pirri and Morin were up. And I see what the Hawks look like now. If Q doesn't trust them, Q doesn't trust them. He's the coach. But carrying 8 defensemen while tagging Bicks, Handzus, and Versteeg to < 8 Min TOI isn't good short term, long term or any other kind of term. |

Agreed....something has to give with the 8 dmen....if Dahlbeck is ready like Eli states then there isn't a valid reason to keep 8 up....I'd like to see Morin or Nordy back up. |

I accept the challenge....page 30 I believe when you called me a POS....or did you mean point of sale?
What do I have to apologize for? Where did I insult you??? I challenge you to find when I've insulted or threatened anyone .....words are words pal.....they have no emotion. Unless you hear them spoken from my mouth you have no idea how to interpret them.....the only emotion they have is when the reader chooses the emotion to put behind them...I don't want an apology though don't worry.....
I appreciate the pm challenging me to a confrontation......
That being said....I hope your wife gets better and my fingers are crossed that she does.... - UnnamedSource
"Anytime" is an answer to your confrontation. You did call me an "internet tough guy" right?
You have to find a post today from me to you after you tell me to "pay attention!". Find a single post from me to anyone other than you in my entire time here trying to put down someone for their opinion.
Jaeckel should ban you. All I see here every few days is you fighting with True Grit or some other poster you decide to get into it with. It is almost always you involved with someone else.

I'll raise this one more time. The Hawks have the cap room to bring up a forward without having to get rid of a defenseman; that's not the reason one's not here. |

Don't know exactly when the Rockfish Triplets were here, so here are the 10-game splits for the Hawks:
6-1-3=15
7-2-1=15
7-3-0=14
7-1-2=16
3-1-5=11 (9 games)
That seems pretty consistent to me - no domination (75% of possible points is the best) and no "come back to the pack" (the most recent split is 61% with all of those OT losses).
Pirri hasn't played in Chicago in 20 games; Morin hasn't played in Chicago in 14 games; Nordstrom hasn't played in Chicago in 18games (and in the 27 games before that).
So: if we take the first 30 games as being with the trio, and the last 19 without, we have:
20-6-4=44=73%
10-2-7=27=71% |

I enjoy the Winter Olympics for things I never watch in the intervening years. And I love watching hockey, especially with so much talent on each team. But it wouldn't kill me if it weren't there. Not trying to dissuade you from your POV, just my two cents. BTW, I'm with you on the shoot-out. |

...or as Mohel states, with the cap the way it is with Vodka Tits on LTIR, the Hawks could recall another forward without impacting the cap. |

EVERYONE. Take a look at unnamed source and count how many confrontations he starts and feeds on this thread. Ignore the fact you met him at an Icehogs game or that he talks about his kid or his dogs. Look at the way he treats people for trying to just have a discussion about something they love.
For me, reading about and even discussing wildly unlikely trades is a release. It has been helpful a bit to read and now post in a dark period. For unnamed source, the release is apparently talking sh!t and disrespecting people who are not there in front of him.
I am sure he has driven a few away from this thread. Count me among them for now.
Thanks to the rest of you. |

If they are adding a player at the deadline though.....wouldn't that hurt their cap space? |
