Stan builds the roster....Q assigns ice time and has a big say in who stays and who goes.
This isn't like Dale Tallon with Denis Savard....This is a HOF coach that obviously does pretty much what he wants.
The way a GM controls who goes when they don't want them to play is by trading that player.....ie John Scott to the Rangers. - Al
Thank you Al. |

Back to the original title in the thread, there is no possible way the hawks trade teravanen. Think about an organizations that now prides itself on drafting and building s going to trade arguably the best prospect in the world ? No way. If I were Stan bowman I would offer kevin cheveldayoff Adam Clendening, Ivan vishnevskiy and drew Leblanc for Ladd. In other words exactly what Chevy gave us plus a guy we signed on a whim last April. The end !! |

Great point, Rick. I think the Kings have a little (just a little) more skill at the top end, too. Both very good teams, though, imo. - mohel
Blues don't have a Carter. That natural shooter that can score from anywhere. Plus Doughty > Pietrangelo for me. |

Went to my first NHL game in two seasons tonight in Dallas. Stars were pretty poor but still kept with the Bruins for a while but weren't good enough to stay in it in a wife open third period. Bruins didn't really look all that great, but a few of their young forwards were flying.
Chara must've had something shoved up his ass because he was cheap shotting and going after guys all game. Were it not for a 2011/12-esque Hawks power play display by the stars, highlighted by a botched 1:30 of 5-on-3, the Bruins would've been buried.
And also, I hate meathead hockey fans at games

I agree about Doughty ... for now, but Pietrangelo is closing the gap fast! |

Versteeg has been fine but Q didn't rotate his line with Bickell having more issues.
Q said today he didn't mind Versteeg's game....Q talk for Versteeg not being an issue. - Al
So Sharp and Versteeg were one of the best penalty killing pairs in hockey when they were together a few years ago.
Why has that not been revisited? |

I don't even think the Hawks have the rights to Vishnevskiy any longer. If they do, I doubt any GM considers him to be anything other than organization depth at the AHL level. Also, I have my doubts that he'd ever come back to North America looking for employment.
I also have my doubts that LeBLAH has any value at this point.
Clendening still has upside and trade value, but not nearly enough to get Ladd back in a deal. |

Brandon Pirri factored in like 3 points for Kane all year. Kane's longer point streak was with Handzus, but ignore that. And you realize Stan is in charge of the roster right? Q has never and will never send anyone down to Rockford - rollpards19

WOOOO shootout wins means Pirri is the best! - rollpards19
Pirri has 6 goals, 11 points, in 24 games and is a positive +/-...but yeah, hate him all you want. Go right ahead.
And then I can sit here and point to the guys who's he's scored more goals then, and been a bigger contributor to offensively.....
Hawks have 2, #3 centers, 1 #4 center, and 0 #2 centers. For all the "Krugman" lovers...see how long that little experiment lasted? that tells you right there what Quenneville, rightfully so, thinks about the GREAT and Powerful Marcus Kruger.
The next Dave Bolland on this board..... |

Let's see if Pirri is back in the line-up in Rockford tomorrow night. - EKolb13
Oh, I know he's hurt.....my point is the reasoning for sending back down was ridiculous.
At least they moved Saad up to Kane's line and put Bickell where he belongs. |

Yeah But do you think Doughty, Regher, Greene and Voynyov are > Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, Boumeister & Leopold.....? Not so sure on that one. |
