Why the phuck would we trade Crawford? - CBHawks88
The only reason I would see is the Detroit model, not spend alot on goalies. Next season CC is at 6mil. |

All fair points. I don't recall public comments Ladd made although I heard some things off the record. Dunno. 3-4 years with Atlanta/Winnipeg might have changed a lot for him.
I will say Teuvo Teravainen could, and likely will, turn out to be a very good NHL player. But the Hawks have a shot at a Cup this year. They also don't have a lot of skilled power players. Ladd brings all that and tons of intangibles.
Would I do this deal, I don't know. I also don't think it's robbery for either side. Value for value, now for the future. - John Jaeckel
The only Cup they can win this year is this year's Cup: this is a team built to win NOW - they need to do what they must to do that.
TT - realistically, when will he be ready contribute toward a Cup champion. I know a lot of people here think he can be ready this spring - my opinion is that he should really have a full year on North American ice before being expected to produce in the NHL.
Depending on how the rest of the deal shakes out, I would tend to say yes. |

after thinking about it for a few hours, wouldn't do it.
Like the idea of Ladd for Bickell though if Chevy wants to do that.
I could even be convinced to trade some other prospects not named TT, Danault, or McNeill.
Agree with other posters, forwards are getting older, need to work in few over the next few years |

Andrew Ladd is a good, proven player. But like those before me have said, Teuvo is one of the elite prospects in hockey. Unless it is a house-hold name coming our way, there's no reason to part with Pat Kane-lite. |

I honestly wouldn't because there aren't better options at this point. Kinda stuck with him, or moreso his contract.
He's an average goalie with an above average goalie contract... |

Hey guys,
after reading for some time, I finally registered for HB. Short introduction:
I am from Germany and a BIG time Hawks fan since the early 90's (starting with EA Sports NHL Series, to be true...). I follow as much as I can via internet, etc. since and last summer finally fulfilled my childhood dream and spontaneously took a plane to the windy city for 1 week to see a game at the UC. Been lucky to see the win in game 5 and experience the 17 seconds in a Hawks bar downtown. Met so many great Hawks fans and really enjoyed my time over there. Just awesome!!!
Please excuse each grammar mistakes, etc. in advance But I finally wanted to join the forum and the Hawks talk. I try to follow as much as I can, but watching the games live per stream is sometimes hard because of the time difference / work. But sometimes I do so or at least watch the highlights / read the reports in the morning.
Enough for now and we'll see if sth. with the Jets rumours works out. Would love to see Ladd back in the Indianhead, but Bicks, TT and a 1st sounds like a bit of overpaying to me as well...
GO HAWKS! |

You also lose a first round pick. And Ladd is almost 30.. I get he adds a lot right away but TT is a huge plan for the Hawks future. And we are still a really good team right now... - PhilMeister89
Ladd just turned 28 on Dec 12; is 4 months older than Bickell, who turns 28 on March 9 |

And no worries, I don't come here to post just after losses and/or to make CC responsible for every goal against |

The only way I see Teravainen going to the Jets for Ladd would if if Winnipeg adds in Schiefele or Trouba along with Ladd. Otherwise, I would hold off. - Arjun_AJB
So, you're a friend of Phil's? We'll try not to hold it against you. Any truth to the rumor that he was a fan of Steve (Grandpa) Larmer? Just kidding, Phil's one of the best dudes on this board, so it is good to have you here as well. |

Now that Noel is gone Chevy has a year to make some waves or he is next to go in Winnipeg
Understand that If Ladd is traded Chev will be under the microscope with what comes back to the Peg
Ladd is a much ...much better player than Bickel so anyone talking a straight up deal can forget it.
Bickel is soon to be a 4 Milton $$$ scratch at which point his value is greatly diminished.
TT and Bickel for Ladd and Frolick I would do given we could make the money work |

Things change and Crawford wouldn't have signed such a large long term contract otherwise. |

People who are saying: No! This is too steep of a price to pay! Might I kindly say: YOU'RE NUTS!!!!
In the NHL you have small windows to win Stanley Cups. The Hawks, THIS SEASON, very much have a chance to win a Stanley Cup.
Trading Bickell and TT plus the pick won't hurt the Hawks this season or in the next few seasons especially when the reward is Ladd plus a young/nice prospect.
This one is a no brainer to me. |

People keep talking about the Detroit model, but I thought that model was effective only pre-salary cap when you could become stacked at forward and defense. |
