Andrew Ladd is a good, proven player. But like those before me have said, Teuvo is one of the elite prospects in hockey. Unless it is a house-hold name coming our way, there's no reason to part with Pat Kane-lite. - TommyHawk
NO ONE knows if TT will be even a lite "version" of Patrick Kane.
What we do know is Andrew Ladd is a proven power forward in this league, has won Cups, brings an inordinate amount to the table, is a leader and everything else you HOPE TT MIGHT be.
I'm looking to win Cups (note the plural) from this point forward. We know Andrew Ladd will help you do that - we don't know if TT will. |

Not sure if the deal works with BBick - perhaps it should be Saad going the other way with other parts on both sides |

I would never include Saad in the deal. Saad is in his very early 20s, already starting to prove himself as a top 6 forward in this league... I would not do the deal with Saad. In fact, I probably wouldn't trade Saad straight up for Ladd. |

No way I give up Teuvo and Bickell for Ladd. I don't know the Jets prospect but seems like a silly deal to even ponder.
I love Ladd and he's an improvement over Bickell, but not enough to cost Teuvo for that minor upgrade. |

gotta give up something to get something - do the hawks really need ladd - or is this more of a trade rumour to move bbick out of town? |

Yes - the Hawks would be giving up a pretty darn good power forward, one of the top prospects in the game and a first round pick for Ladd. That's plenty and very much worth the risk.
Giving up Saad in that deal would be downright ludicrous. You don't include one of the top young/somewhat proven players in the game. |

and of course throw in Lalonde...
Btw, saw him twice this season here in Germany playing against my hometown team. Also didn't really stand out in both games. Having a good seasson point-wise (12/12/24), but also has 93 PM and a -1 rating. In general more an average season for him on an untypical average Berlin team this year. And it's only DEL, far away from NHL... |

So, you're a friend of Phil's? We'll try not to hold it against you. Any truth to the rumor that he was a fan of Steve (Grandpa) Larmer? Just kidding, Phil's one of the best dudes on this board, so it is good to have you here as well. - mohel
Thanks Mo...RIGHT BACK ATCHA BRO...no Arjun is a twitter dude that loves the Hawks. Just thought i'd invite him over to get into some deeper convo's over here. Glad he took me up on it.
This is prolly the best blog....at least the best for an American-based team, who just happen to be (cue the Michael Buffer voice) "THE REIGNING, DEFENDING." Stanley Cup CHAMPIONS !!!! So, the more the merrier. |

Ah ok, hopefully u enjoy it there?!
Chicago would be a great destination for me. Fell in love with the city. Ok, I have been there in June and not now in the cold, but hey...
P.S.: I live in Duesseldorf. 600.000 citizens, but perhaps our "rival city" (regarding everything: dialect, hockey teams, soccer teams, beer, carneval, etc) Cologne is better known |

Uh-oh - an East Conference smoothie trying to screw up two West Conference teams.

Hey guys,
after reading for some time, I finally registered for HB. Short introduction:
I am from Germany and a BIG time Hawks fan since the early 90's (starting with EA Sports NHL Series, to be true...). I follow as much as I can via internet, etc. since and last summer finally fulfilled my childhood dream and spontaneously took a plane to the windy city for 1 week to see a game at the UC. Been lucky to see the win in game 5 and experience the 17 seconds in a Hawks bar downtown. Met so many great Hawks fans and really enjoyed my time over there. Just awesome!!!
Please excuse each grammar mistakes, etc. in advance But I finally wanted to join the forum and the Hawks talk. I try to follow as much as I can, but watching the games live per stream is sometimes hard because of the time difference / work. But sometimes I do so or at least watch the highlights / read the reports in the morning.
Enough for now and we'll see if sth. with the Jets rumours works out. Would love to see Ladd back in the Indianhead, but Bicks, TT and a 1st sounds like a bit of overpaying to me as well...
GO HAWKS! - MDGHawk
Welcome! Always great to see European fans get in on the fun. The life of an avid Hawks fan in Europe is not easy, to be sure. |

Welcome.
On the rumor. Chevy is under immense pressure there. No way he can trade Ladd without what is perceived to be major pieces coming back.
Also, Ladd may have wanted to play there before but who says that is the case now? This could be one of those deals that also is for the benefit of the player - one that I think Chevy and many in Winnipeg feel has done what he could in a difficult room.
TT, Bickell and a first is steep but Ladd PROBABLY helps this lineup now and for the next 2-3 years to win cups then any of those 3 pieces. Long run it is probably a loser on paper but not if Ladd is the piece that helps win a cup this year or next.
Also BTW, I won the rumor pool I started yesterday. Can someone start a congratulations thread and a fund for my prize IMMEDIATELY.
