Couts and B. Schenn were asked by David Poile in the Weber "trade talks" before the offer-sheet was given.
Phoenix wanted Couturier/Schenn as part of a potential deal that would have sent Yandle to Philly. - Flyers_V88

Yandle is an all-star, and Weber is the best defenseman in the league, so.... |

They won't be giving up on him. Several times now over the course of 2 years, we've had to chance to trade him as part of a package for elite, super-star players and we haven't. Says all you need to know there. - Flyers_V88
Yep... Says that the Flyers talent scouts are fantastic at identifying and drafting 3rd line offensively lacking shut down forwards.... Coots, Laughton.....

Couturier will be an offensive star sooner than later. Will he win the scoring race or the Richard? Hell no. But I think it's realistic to expect he can easily become a 20-30 goal and 60-80 point man in his prime. He did lead the Q in scoring and was the 1st overall pick among pundits before he got sick with mono... |

You're right, he was. One of the better rugged D in the league until that incident with Lucic. Always felt bad for him afterwards. I really wanna see someone beat the poop out of Lucic, and not because I hate him, but because he needs to have at least one bad beating at the NHL level lol. Apparently Frazer Mac dummied him in junior? |

Wow...Malone to Toronto makes no sense - especially if they were to trade a dman for him. We already have one David Clarkson, we don't need an older version. |

I understand... my point is that sometimes these guys are worth more as an unknown than they are after 3-4 years in the league.
Guys like Alex Goligoski for the Pens... supposed to be a slick puck mover.. PP QB type.... got us Neal and Niskanen. Gogo is good but he's not worth those two guys now |

It does if he replaces one of the two fighters on the fourth line.. |

Chara - golfingsince
Agreed, but, I take Weber over Chara simply due to age and mobility. As well, I don't know how else I can word this, but I would say that "pound-for-pound," Weber is a more skilled player. Chara is merely a good D with a huge size advantage. |

In a world without limited cap space and more pressing needs, sure. Paying someone 4.5 pro rated to play limited minutes on the 4th line doesn't add value. Especially at the expense of a young dman.

So, in essence, the Flyers are looking for another Dman that turns the puck over at a rapid rate? |

If you're going to go age, mobility and pound for pound skill then you might want to look at Doughboy. Anyways, as I originally said it's a bold statement. The lack of a Norris trophy is all the evidence I need of that. |

Visited this site for first time in a while, surprised it still exists! No trades = no point. How many unsubstantiated rumours does it take before folks realize he's just like any other fan trying to fit team's needs with a pipedream trade idea. No inside info at all. Bob Cole has more, and he's out to lunch broadcasting these days. |

I would assume most people know ecklund is full of sh%t with 98% of his supposed trade rumours..its more for us fans to get together and share our pipe dreams..and some dinks wanting to post the word first like it actually means something |
