Too bad they weren't still discussing this deal. Van fleeced Flo in the early trading days (Jovanovski, Luongo) but Flo has gotten back at them pretty hard (Ballard, Booth).

In a world without limited cap space and more pressing needs, sure. Paying someone 4.5 pro rated to play limited minutes on the 4th line doesn't add value. Especially at the expense of a young dman.

For what it's worth he actually isn't paid $4.5M. His salary is actually $2.0M or $2.5M (can't remember which) but his cap hit is $4.5M. This doesn't matter from Leafs perspective but just being factual

I will believe these rumors when something actually happens. Ive been reading for weeks about Miller leaving Buffalo and Buff leaving Winnipeg but yet nothing has happened. Money is that nothing big is going to happen till after the Olympics
