Hey I love our logo, so much so I got it permanently attached to my skin. I just wanted to have one of my favorite player and up and coming star in the NHL. #27 on the scoresheet #1 in your hearts.

Our D next year will look something like this.. and we aren't gonna get rid of Jovo. For one, he's actually playing damn good right now. He has a + ratings in all games since coming back, he's physical, taking shots.. he's a bit slow and out of position but the man hasn't played in 9 months, let him recover a bit. I am also assuming we don't trade Campbell and only going buy who is under contract for next season so I won't include Gilbert Weaver, or Kuli.. who I don't think comes back. I will include Guds and Olsen because I think both of them return:

Campbell FA
Gudbranson Olsen
FA Jovo

- Panthers88

He's played a whopping 5 games. Gilbert is like 8 yrs younger, played in all games this yr and is a +1. He is surely the best defensive damn on this team

I wanted the habs to tank and get Barkov to play with Galchenyuk.

Gilbert has played a lot better since the coaching change. BUT if you think he is the best defensive D-man on this team you must not watch any games! But like I said he has improved and almost to the point wouldn't mind bringing him back for the right price.

Plus Jovo is still under contract and can't get rid of him. He is 35+ contract so he are stuck with his cap hit either way, and at least he hits.

Sure we can play with the likes of the islanders but sure are a step or 2 below teams like the sharks, cup contenders

I know Horacek has done a great job with this team since taking over but he needs to change a couple things up. First, get Huberdeau away from Goc and Kopecky and back with Bjugstad and Upshall. This team was playing it's best hockey when they were rolling this line and obviously the Killer B's line. Secondly, like many of you have said if this team had any kind of success on the powerplay the would be closer to a playoff spot or in one. Something needs to change because the powerplay looks terrible and isn't working at all. Way too much passing and looking for that perfect shot or open net. Change up the personnel and get a big body to screen the goalie and cause havoc in front of the net. Maybe throw Guddy out there too?

I don't know, they were in the game for pretty much all of it. If they can some goals on the PP this would be a great team, not an inconsistent one. 5 on 5 they can play with any team. Like many have said they need that one sniper who gets big goals. A winger who can score.

San Jose plays a big style game that just cannot match up too. Weaver had no chance of stopping Thornton on that one, and while Thomas was stopping the first shot, guys like Pavelski and Marleau will put away the second shot all day long. We aren't near ready for a team like that. BUT.. had we of scored on the PP even ONCE, the game would have been entirely different. I will stand by my statement that Huberdeau needs to be away from Kopecky and Goc, two guys who probably won't be here much longer anyways.

Our PP troubles are over!! And I believed you before but I was just saying that he should have been out there more. Horacheck is great but he is not treating Huberdeau the correct way.

just a question here but since you guys mentioned you wanted great wingers and since the rumor is out we won't be able to resign both girardi and callahan i wonder if there may be a trade possible with you guys, cally is a great (the best) leadership guy and i am sure it wouldn't hurt the development of your young stars like barkov and bjugstad, like is said earliere to you guys i believe the NYR really need a first line potential star to get us in real contention and since we have some good prospects waiting in the wings. how much i would hate to do it but let's say a deal of Callahan+first(+MDZ) for Huberdeau(+kulikov?) would maybe be doable, i know cally is a ufa but he isn't one to chose for money and you guys will be dominant in the future i believe so you will be able to sign him, maybe even a sign and trade kind of deal, just wondering

You're asking pretty much for a swap of Callahan and a first for Huberdeau. Kulikov and MDZ are the same player and that first is going to be a middling pick in an extremely weak draft unless it's the yr after? I'd think Tallon would hang up the phone?

I was wrong too. The genius of Dale Tallon.
- PanthersGoal

I was wrong as well but I wouldn't call Tallon a genius. He's made some really stupid draft picks and trades as well. His downside is the horrible contracts that he gives out to guys at the end of their careers. See Jovo, Upshall, and Kuba.

Callahan is a UFA after this season. No one will trade for him.

We both know why Jovo and Upshall got what they got. Kuba was a crap move, absolutely granted. Letting Grabner walk after a week or so to flex his GM muscle was not too brilliant. My thoughts are, that in this league, it's easy to make more mistakes than solid deals and choices. Tallon seldom gets fleeced.

The only trade we have is MDZ for Kulikov. Although the past two weeks have not been as painful as others, I have no faith or trust in him. He makes too many bonehead moves for my liking. Just as a "change of scenery trade" I'd swap them even up. Nobody is in a hurry for MDZ, so I don't know why Ranger fans always overvalue to the hilt marginal players. Huberdeau is in the sophomore slump, and is off limits. If I hear Bill Lindsay say one more time he's taking his shoot out shots to deep at the goaltender one more time, I'll puke.

Heart and soul guy, good player, but he's a risk with his injuries and the length of the contract him and his agent will most certainly be demanding. Sather knows this that's why I'd think these rumours are true. Some team would probably give up a late first for him in this weak draft for a rental but I can't see more than that.
