Everybody is really anxious to give up on Larsson. He's like 21 and a defenseman. Give the kid a break. Merrill is our best defenseman other than Greene. Trading him is stupid.

Also, signing O'Reilly through RFA would have been retarded because he had to go through reentry waivers if the Avs didn't match. This is why Feaster isn't a GM anymore, because he is a retard. We would have given up another 1st round draft pick for another team to claim him for free, some amount of 2nds and 3rds, and then have nothing. This is why no team, except the one with the mentally handicapped GM, sent an offer sheet to O'Reilly.

Merrill is not dazzling but the kid has really good numbers. Shots for and against are really positive for a rookie. I doubt he puts up big points ever but he is the type of defenseman we need on our team. How often do we complain about our defense being slow and terrible. Merrill is the opposite of that and he's the kind of guy we need on this team.

If our defense wasn't so slow and old our team wouldn't be terrible. Fayne is fine, Greene has been playing great, Merrill has been very good. Zidlicky for all of his problems puts up points when it counts, Gelinas needs to improve but as a rookie he's been very good. Volchenkov, Salvador, and Harrold can all die for all I care. We have a good core on the back end. Our forwards right now aren't terrible. They look bad because we have some bad eggs on the back end.

We are so lucky to get a point out of this game. Grossly outplayed for 40 minutes we put up one good period to steal a point. What a joke.

I think Merrill is more sound defensively than Gelly. I hope we can keep both but if we're talking about possibly trading for Kane or any high end forward then one of them has to go.

Yas wanna trade for a center? We have centers.

In two months time, if O'Reilly is not playing for the Avalanche, he'll probably either be playing for the Canucks, the Rangers, or the Coyotes.

O'Reilly's PP numbers are pretty good, but he's playing with some offensively talented forwards as well, which we don't have too much of.

He's not the answer, keep looking.
