The most surprising part of the 3 year extension announcement was that it did not include a no trade clause.
Mason should fire his agent. |

St. Louis is going off. 4 goals in a little more than a period of play.
He's got a bigger gripe than Giroux not making the Olympic team. - PLindbergh31
I know. Especially, since he actually plays RW. He may end up being in the discussion for the Hart |

This site is dramatically skewed toward the Flyers fanbase in membership. Other teams have other places their fans gravitate to. Posts on this site isn't a good indicator. You might have a point if you could aggregate posts on all hockey fora. - bodiva88
No doubt but I think its a safe bet that the Flyers have a larger fan base than the Islanders |

It was definitely gonna be his last chance at the Olympics. G is still young. Don't know if that had anything to do with it, but that could be a factor. |

That's what I mean. This is his last chance at the Olympics, he's having a better season than Giroux as well. I don't understand why he's not on the team.
Guess Yzerman hasn't seen him play much this year. |

Portland is a very underrated city in terms of coolness and sports fan base. - PhillySportsGuy
No one underrates its coolness. Powell's Books, man. But probably the fact that it has only an NBA team in the major sports category limits its sports fan cred. |

Ive never visited, but I really want to. My friends say it's a really laid back atmosphere with unbelievable breweries and good seafood. Right up my alley.
They've always seemed like a great basketball atmosphere. You think about the poop that franchise has experienced. Sam Bowie, Greg Oden, Brandon Roy and crazy rasheed wallace. They still show up and display a great atmosphere. |

I was thinking along the lines of Bschenn, LSchenn, Voracek, and a pick for Weber. The rest are (praying to the hockey gods they get there) UFA signings. |

I don't see how/why the Predators let Suter get away. It happens. |

Suter didn't want to be there. Nashville would have had to offer a ridiculous amount to retain him.
I don't think Weber wanted to be either. I have a feeling he'd be a Flyer, if they didn't offer sheet him. |

True, but if a player no longer wants to be at a team, a manager has to find out as soon as possible and try to move him for some return. Nashville still could've gotten a very good return for Suter if they traded him prior to that offseason. |
