Hemsky for Greening, Gryba, conditional 2015 5th round pick - King_Karlsson[turns 4th if he resigns in ottawa]
mid level prospect signed on elc goes back with hemsky. |

Too be honest I personally would rather keep Hemmer and resign him. Maybe move Eberle for a bigger top 6 forward and move gagner to help out the d - Killbot460
Gagner isn't going to get us much help on defense the way he's playing. |

Does anyone else wish Paul Maurice was the coach we hired. Just watching him on the bench he is far superior to Eakins. - Ihatebrianburke

I hope he's still around when (I'm convinced it's a when and not an 'if') Eakins gets fired early next season. |

Petry had a bad game but he also didn't get like any help after he missed a couple checks. Like zero help. Kind of the theme of his season... |

True but we didn't deserve to win that game either way. Bryz plays great and our guys have no heart. Pushed around by a bigger stronger team. Same old story - Ihatebrianburke
as soon as perron scored the goal, wpg came back with so much push back. edm couldn't even match up. |

They've clearly given up. I get the feeling they don't like/respect Eakins and want him gone. - MaximumBone
Or...
(1) They're lazy
(2) They suck
Seriously though, if these guys won't play hard because they dislike their coach, they need to grow the (frank) up! They're making millions and acting like little sh1theads! Makes me want to vomit! What sorry excuses for human beings... May they burn in hell!

Yeah, that was my understanding of interference, but I've seen a number of those types of this let go. I think it has to do with the fact that they were both engaging each other as opposed to Belov just getting bowled over. He lost cause he didn't know where Bryz was. - MaximumBone
Trouba gets his foot into Belov's and trips him up. He knew exactly what he was doing on that one. If he is gonna get away with it then all the power to him. |

I just caught an interesting comment on Lowetide:
"I’m beginning to wonder if Eakins’ “fitness above all” strategy is backfiring (assuming it’s had any effect at all). Something like this:
- Eakins watches film, sees the team tiring in games, especially against big teams
- Identifies his hobby horse of ultra fitness, demands better VO2 results from his team
- As a result, they work harder at cardio at the cost of strength and speed (there is always a tradeoff, and it is well established that high cardio comes at a big price in speed and strength, as fast twitch muscle fibres are repurposed to be slow twitch)
- A team that is already smaller and weaker than most becomes even smaller and weaker, and also loses its one big advantage which is speed, and so must work that much harder to try and keep up with bigger teams
- The result is an early deficit, where the “long distance runners” of the Oilers cannot match the weightlifters and sprinters on the other team
- In the second period, it comes into balance, and the Oilers VO2 advantage finally shows a little edge. I don’t have data, but just out of memory, the second period seems to be the Oilers’ best many games
- By the third period, the delta in effort required to match the strength of other teams, especially the big teams, once again overcomes the VO2 advantage
- And we get this, your 2013-2014 Edmonton Oilers
Just a theory. Thoughts? Does it at least partially match what we’re seeing out there?"
It seems like a viable theory. |

No that isn't really possible. Trolls are very insecure so he is really miserable inside. Plus a leafs fan so how could he be enjoying himself. |

Seems to be grasping at straws a bit. Like using Eakin's background to automatically assume that they're sticking to pure cardio. As far as I'm concerned, our problems lie in hockey problems and not fitness, because I'm not sure whatever we do in dryland training is that different than what other teams do. Seems like this comment is from someone so sick of losing that they're almost desperate to come up with whatever theory about Eakins they can to determine how we're losing. Props for creativity though, and hey, maybe he's onto something that has a non-zero impact on whatever's happening out there. |

Ironic how the oil only in the league since 79 have had the word "dynasty" to describe them when the leafs who have been in the league for a couple hundred years have never even remotely come close to having that word used to describe them. |

I was hoping to see Scrivens play, but oh well! Than again, perhaps he will if Bryz (frank)s up (which is likely). - laughs2907
