They would have just stitched him up in the parking lot & not let him even enter the ER |

probably just dab some superglue on it and call it good
actually there is a federal law that says everyone has to get a least an exam when they come to the ER now
In the 70's and 80's I remember there was a big sign in the waiting room at Albert Einstein on N Broad St that said if you are coming to be seen for a non emergency you have to pay $50 up front
that is not allowed anymore by law |

Any one else think that grossman has been playing particularly bad as of late? That three on one that was allowed last night because of a horrendous pinch by him was awful. Maybe it is because he is paired with streit or being told to be more aggressive in the offensive zone, but he is allowed the most chances of all defensemen for the flyers and that is including his team leading blocked shots! His posession numbers are horrendous. I'm not sure what happened to him this year. |

I thought he was referring to the stress on their hearts...
Crazy game last night. Love Mesz's new-found confidence and Raffl's will to score a goal after coming so close several times the last couple games.
And I'm already regretting Mason's contract after last night's performance. - wolfhounds
He was, I just found iy funny coming from him haha

I thought he was playing good solid hockey in the beginning of the season, and has had a rough stretch of games lately
I absolutely hate the 8/32 pairing
Streit is here to produce offense and Grossmann is too slow to catch up when his partner pinches and plays 4th forward
I'm not blaming Streit, just hate the pairing
Grossmann had a terrific play in the third that led to the Read goal

He always is a stud on the pk and playing shorthanded. So maybe it is just that paying with streit does that to your numbers?

I think he's been uncharacteristically bad the past 12 or so games...he still does a lot right out there but the mistakes are becoming more and less far between. Without blaming Streit per se, perhaps that pairing isn't a good fit. Coburn/Grossmann was a solid shut down pairing, he'd probably be good with Timo too, maybe Gusty... |

I've been saying we should reunite the Grossmann/Coburn pairing
I think it should be Grossmann/Coburn, Kimmo/Streit, Mez/Schenn
Worth a shot right? |

The D just has a bad mix this year.
I would like to see Gusty rotated in, giving breaks to Grossmann now, maybe even giving Kimmo some breaks after the Olympics. Mez keeps playing as he's red hot.
Luke I think needs to play a lot. |

Why not? Berube has changed the forward lines when needed and found some good chemistry, the same might hold true for the D. |

Yeah, the D is in flux this season, which a high chance of significant changes coming in the next 6 months or so...with a mostly young offensive core in place and a decent goalie signed, the D is the obvious next area in line to be further reshaped...with Timo and Mez possibly departing being another catalyst. I'd like the Flyers to be on the lookout for d men that can add speed and puck skills, but I just want them to be patient and selective should they choose to make deals, not paying too much in trade or contract for a player past his prime...I'd rather they add a younger player with two-way upside to the core at a moderate cost and also look internally at guys like Morin, Ghost, Alt and Gusty, now maybe MAB as possible players to promote...if that upper tier talent comes on the market, I'd want the Flyers in the game, but again, they should avoid overpayment, especially when it comes to involving guys like Couturier, B Schenn, Jake and Simmer....if one of them could be packaged for a Yandle or a Shattenkirk, I'd consider it, but I'd rather try and trade off the likes of Hartnell or VLC or Streit...it all depends on the market and the dance partner and other circusmtances...I think (I'm hopeful that) the right move will present itself and by this time next season we'll see a better blueline mix out there. |

Kimo has been our best defensemen this year with Coburn being a close second. They are going to have to make some sort of big splash to make up for that loss. Kimos possession numbers are outstanding especially for a 38 year old. Dunno how you can be patient after losing a guy like this... |

Mason was pulled by Craig Berube after the fourth goal, but it had nothing to do with the way the goaltender was playing. The changeover to Ray Emery was done solely to wake up the team. -bill

Is Leier or Laughton eligible to join the Phantoms after their junior season ends?

Both will be after their junior seasons unless for whatever reason the Flyers send them back for an overage season. |

I was pissed when he first pulled him. It worked out, and in hindsight we can say it was the "right" move, but I hated it at the time.
