you guys are missing a lundqvist, a mcdonagh, a girardi, a staal, a callahan, a stepan, a kreider, a boyle, a moore, a dorsett, and a carcillo.
Hall - RNH - Eberle
Kreider - Stepan - Yakupov
Dorsett - Gagner - Callahan
Boyle - Moore - Carcillo
McDonagh - Girardi
Staal - J. Schultz
Petry - Ference
Lundqvist
Scrivens
- rangerdanger94
I've said that before. The Oilers have everything the Rangers are missing and vice versa. Rangers don't miss it nearly as much tho.

wayyyy too simplified
smyth, ference, Gordon, hemsky, n Schultz
vets are great. but we need better players first and foremost surrounding our core
ference, Gordon stay. consider smyth. - hugefemale dog77
Smyth would look fine getting paid 1-1.5 million a year and playing on the 4th line, in my opinion. |

Bottom line in my opinion is that we should add, add, add to the forwards and worry about the line combinations later.
You don't need to know where Gagner/Arcobello/Yakupov slot into the lineup to know that Edmonton adding a big tough centerman or a defensive stalwart like Kulemin is better than them NOT doing that. |

agreed
I hated the hockey Canada references. I don't care about that stuff. I care about him making the oilers a winner. which he didn't do.
he gets a pass pre 04 lockout. even a vote of confidence.
but after that...fail.
I suppose I can see his continued employment if he's just operations and making katz mad money.
otherwise, it seems strange. if not to let him go just to appease so many angry fans - hugefemale dog77
In all honesty, if Katz made decisions to try and appease the fans and not to build a long term sustainable winner, we might end up like Columbus. Playoff series here and there but largely a bubble team. I hate it as much as the next guy but if we're in it to be a contender for 10 years or more (which is really what I want) we need to except that this team is gonna be really bad for at least 1 more year.
Free agency can go a long way, but I don't see us winning any knee jerk trades in the long term. |

What do you guys think of the Katz letter? Sounds like damage control to me. I just don't get the Lowe endorsement. - whipper334
I actually liked it. More than anything I just liked that he was clear in the direction. Sure feels like we are still 2 years away from playoff's, but whatever. |

exactly.
not addressed towards you; but that was exactly what I meant when I said bottom 6'er.
but buddy replied that we don't need anymore bottom 6'ers. then rattled off position by position how he sees it going. neglecting to mention 3rw.
or is he assuming we resign hemsky?? - hugefemale dog77
I neglected thw 3rd line RW wing because we can easily either put arco there or have Pitlick up from the farm. 6ft 2 and about 200 pounds he brings some size and grit plus from what I read last night on the Oilers site, Todd Nelson was suggesting he should be up here |

A rookie in a key defensive role. Barf. I like Pitlick as a 4th liner until he has proven he can be trusted with more. |

Well like I said you bring him up and see how he can play in a more established roll. If it doesnt work out no big loss and plus its not a waste of contract. |

Seems fine to me. Slightly more than a similar player in Jarret Stoll, but he's more of a focal point in the Calgary rebuild than Stoll is in the LA cup challenge |
