I wish they could clone Simmonds so he could play on each line. Nice to see a forward hustling back defensively for a change! |

agreed ... Simmonds seems to bring as much or more hustle than anyone on the team. |

I have more problems with the lack of smartness than the lack of effort. |

I suppose Grossmann was protecting the one goal lead with little time left in the period ...

Exlund - I too would love to see Alt get at least a cup of coffee up with the Flyers this season but I really don't see that happening unless a slew of our D go down with injuries. Gutsy can't even get back into the lineup. - Pixote Andolini
I agree...I just hope they find a way to work these types of guys in eventually...sometimes you see teams in big market, high pressure cities tend be wary of promoting prospects in their lineup in favor of more experienced vets who they think can get them farther, faster... and many times the team suffers long term as they never really find out what they have in the lower ranks, sometimes seeing good players blossom elsewhere or even never making it when they probably should have. I'm a big believer in players that prove they can produce/perform on any team in any league they play, even if the perception is that they wouldn't likely make it in the NHL. A guy like Akeson....he's shown he can produce at every level he's played and has a high skill and hockey sense...I think at some point you have to throw him into the lineup with some decent linemates and see if he can make it in the NHL...I'd like to see that over the next season or two, along with possibly guys like Alt, Morin, Laughton, Cousins |

If the islanders won't pay McDonald. The flyers should have him as a top priority. He would easily slot in as our best dman. A good 2 way guy |
