MPS is garbage, doesnt matter his age.
Halak to Long Island for a Pick
and yes I am fine with enroth and hackett as our goalies for 20 games. - Mentalorgasm5
Im confused you say the pick is not worth it and then you flip Halak for what would be a 2-3 rd pick? |

Miller (30-40% retained), Stafford, Grigo, and MIN's 2nd rounder
Halak, Berglund, Paajarvi, and a 1st - JVince11
this would be a terrible trade for the sabres. it will never happen. |

That per a source
You mean the Blues/Sabres orgs didn't call you directly to let you know.
Now is this a "trusted", "high up", "very reliable", "russian", "european", "west coast", "east coast", "canadian" source ? |

a late first just for miller would be horrible, plus a rental, and MPS (who is garbage) so they better be able to get more than just a late first for MIller. |

That a bunch of throw ins besides berglund from Stl along with a late 1st.
We have a 3rd line C in the AHL in Larsson who will be great and will require giving up nothing for. Unless you want to play Berglund on the wing like he has in the past for a bit it makes no sense....maybe if the 1st was in 2015....maybe |

So you resign Halak for 4MM a year?
A late first is all you are going to get offers from. No team not in the playoffs is going to offer anything for Miller.
Washington and St.Louis are really the only suitors. With miller blocking trades with his NTC.
You get a 1st, a goalie and a young prospect/roster player.
Not sure how you get much better |

you'd be able to sign a player like him, or even him (halak) in the off season, no point in trading your best asset for him now.
Buffalo should be on the phone with Washington, a team that needs a goalie. |

That seems like the last thing they need though?
They are pretty set at forward right now.
unless it was Ott +, but then again there is the Salary cap to deal with. - ImThatGuy
can you ever be too deep in the playoffs? if they feel this is their year they will go all out |

Are blues really gonna milk buffalo for Moulson? That's a low blow, unless they return one of their top players. Backes, Halak and a first round for Miller and Moulson? Either way you look at it, if Blues get Miller... they win the cup... straight up

Believe me I know this all too well being a Sabres fan. Down 5 of the top 6 defensman in one series against CAR.
I guess you are right, I just see them focusing on other areas first.
Maybe a 5-7 d man for insurance or going over the top with an upgrade in goal with Miller. |

From Washington though you are getting a 1st, Neuiverth. If you are going after Wilson or Kuznetsoz you better be willing to give up more. |

For sure, Miller is worth a top prospect, a first round pick (early) and add another well established role playing player in the mix. Miller is hands down still probably in the top 3 tenders in the league. Blues will need to offer quite a lot to get miller... Halak is simply not enough. Halak plus a first rounder for miller could be a possibility. |

When are you going to stop Eklund.... Like I said on twitter before you blocked me.... Maybe you do have legitimate sources.. They just make rumours up when it comes to you because it's fun to screw around with the "anonymous" guy.... |

no one knows what we would get from any team.
And while no one knows, it would appear we could get more from them, due to the fact that they actually need a goalie.
Not to mention, ATM, they are a team that could fall out of the playoffs, so their first has more value. |

Maybe miller at 30 and signed for 3 more years.
But Miller at 33-34 and a pending UFA looking to cash in on his next conrtact is going to be worth less. |
