its all speculation, no one knows if he actually submitted a list, no one knows if the sabres actually had a trade in works.

and if he did already submit a list, this would actually help us and his value, because we would know right now what teams we could trade him to.

- Mentalorgasm5

If I'm Buffalo's GM there is no way I let that list see the light of day.

Miller has a limited no trade clause that can only include 8 teams.
- Mentalorgasm5

Right so he gives them STL, SJ, ANA, CHI, PIT, NYR, LA, BOS.....bye bye leverage.

I'm not saying Miller will do that just that he controls the trade as much as anyone.

I have to say he has looked pretty good at times, when he actually gets ice time and isn't on the 4th line....

Great site to talk puck and read comments.... Did you buy your season ticket yet?

Oh never mind... You probably get yours free. Just for sticking up for Eklund when you get the chance. That's cool.

Yeah we're pretty close. We are in the process of buying a condo together.

but signs point to him wanting to leave, so I doubt he out teams that want him and are good on the list.

And if that is the list, I am fine with that, move him to WASHINGTON the most logical partner since opening day.

Agreed, Miller has to be open to Stl as an option. Thing is though, what is Miller worth for 1/3rd of a season + playoffs? Second rounder? Im thinking Buffalo is working on a bigger trade to mask the low value of Millers return in an effort to minimize blowback for overly emotional Sabres fans.

Lol I never mentioned anything about devil's trading possibilities. But Miller will be looking for a massive contract. Just to keep in mind. He is one of the best tenders so he can ask 6MM and up.

I guess my point is that anything can happen, but it would be a massive mistake for Buffalo to trade him without getting a major major piece back in the trade for their organization. I didn't look into Blues' players contracts, but if none of their best players is trade away to get Miller, no matter what Buffalo looses and Blues gets a major steal in the deal.

- PtotheY

I think their best bet is to resign him if they can I mean hopefully he is nice enough to let them know before the tdl that he won't resign so they don't lose him for nothing but if they can resign him then they don't have to worry about losing value. I think it also sends a message that they are kind of done trying to get worse and want to start making progress in the forward direction for the next few years. It also helps in that he can steal games so it means these young kids won't develop a losing mentality. They have all the picks they need just wait it out. Maybe move Enroth and let Hacket back up see if when Miller is ready to hang em up if he is ready to be a number 1 or if Makarov is ready by then.

I can only see him going to Washington or St Louis unless another goalie gets injured. NYI could always do something weird and confusing and get him like they are apt to do from time to time.

I wonder how those who think Miller will fetch a tidy some compare this situation to the Bouwmeester situation from last year?

Tarasenko 900,000
Halak 3,750,000
Roy 4,000,000 - he pretty much has to come back to sabres for salary cap reasons

To BLUES:
Miller 6,250,000
Ott 2,950,000
2nd rd pick

If it wasn't for the blues salary situation, I think you easily get a 1st (would be a late first rounder) and a fringe prospect/player or two.

As a side note, I wonder if Buffalo would be willing to take Carlo back in the trade to help the money work....

Tarasenko play in the last month, talent, potential and ELC make him almost un-tradeable at this point from a gm standpoint. He has consistently been one of the 1-4 best players on the ice, night in, night out (barring his flu bout).

Tarasenko is a future 30-40 goal scorer.... not going to happen. You might get Stewart if you swapped out Ott for Moulson.

Ive come to the conclusion that Buffalo is not going to get on of STL top prospects.

If this is 2 years ago Miller is 30 and has two years left on his deal, possibly. but not now.

Grigorenko for Pietrangelo straight up.

#1 centers are hard to come by everyone says and Grigorenko is clearly Quebec's #1 cetner

If the Sabres trade Miller and Grigorenko does Garth get thrown in too?

I don't know if Miller is even a top10 goalie in the league anymore. He is getting older, and is a UFA...no way the Blues trade their current starting goalie (who is damn good BTW) and another major piece (ie. Backes) for Miller.
Blues are a very solid team now, and just need to tinker to be a Cup favorite, not make a major move and lose 2-3 guys off their current roster.
Plus if Miller is wanting $6m per...Blues are better off keeping Halak and resigning for $4m...
