The bottom line is this the sabres will not trade miller for 3rd or 4th line and 4-7 d man or AHLer and mid tear prospects.
If you want Miller the you need to be prepared to give up at list a 2nd line forward and a 1st round pick and your number 2 or 3 prospect. - ImThatGuy
You are going to be severly dissapointed.
Agreed. Take it from a Canucks fan, (I'm not saying Schneider is = to Miller) but considering Schneid's play, youth and upside, everyone in Vancouver was expecting more than a top 10 1st rounder (especially considered he was signed on at a very healthy cap hit.)
The question is how badly does St. Louis need Miller to take away key personal. If I'm the GM of the Blues, there is no way I'm including either Tarasenko or Schwartz. |

I'm not expecting to make a killing on a Miller trade either. I see a 1st and solid prospect better than Johan Larsson I hope. - GilPerreault11
That is reasonable. |

What could the Blues need that they can (Besides Miller)
A) Use
B) Fit within the cap
without giving up anything on their roster. - ImThatGuy
You know the Blues will pull a Garth Snow and trade a UFA, 1st and a 2nd for another UFA |

I would love to see Miller and Ott for Teuvo Teravainen and Vladimir Tarasenko, straight up.
Buffalo would also need to eat the max salary and take back a salary dump as well.
If I'm GM, I'm asking, just asking about Tarasenko.
You want Miller, I want Tarasenko...
Go ahead, Ryan you are free to negotiate a potential contract
What do I have to add to Miller to get me Tarasenko?
Moulson? Stafford? Ott? Combination? Picks not in the first rd? Prospects, we're loaded
Obviously, there are salary constraints, meaning Roy has to come back, Halak probably also
Sabres need some top level young snipers at the wing
Tarasenko is where I start than come down - doctordizzle |

So out of curiosity, does "Sabres Blues Serious Talks" not get a rating ?
So do we know if they are just catching up for a drink at the put or are they in a office somewhere, with pens and paper at hand.
Blues can have Miller+Stafford+Leino+Weber+Tallinder, we just want 1 player to come back the other way, that seems fair! |
|
|
|
Now if the Sabres include Ott and Miller in a trade and toss in a 2nd they had better get a 1st, productive young forward with strong top 6 potential, and a younger third liner than Ott. |

Panthers just entered the talks and will be trading Kulikov to St. Louis for some towels and a skate blade. - Panthers88
that is absolutley ridiculous...everybody knows you have to replace skate blades in PAIRs |

Yes, that initial post must be an 8th grader
Fair value is probably just a first, maybe a tad more. The more savvy GM gets more pieces. If comes to deadline and Miller not looking to resign, you take that first and run.

It's not an albatross. Crawford is still a solid goalie and would be the immediate starter in Buffalo.
Goalies are getting paid now-a-days. |

Then, you step up your game, and give fair value for the trade!!! - Sabresfan88
Blues have the upper hand in this trade, it will be halak, our 1st or edm's 2nd (they should basically be the same) and a mid level prospect, we don't have to make a trade, but buffalo does if they don't think miller will resign with them after this season |

It is funny how all the people in here that are opposed to these ideas are all Sabres opponents fans in our division, and mostly not the Blues fans!
Go figure! - Sabresfan88 It's not that I am against Miller trade ideas, it's just common sense. |

Nor should they but offering salary dumps, halak, and a late 1st is stupid
There needs to be something coming back that substantially improves the sabres roster as well....aka a top prospect - SiloCity
The Blues have to salary dump because of the cap otherwise they can't make the deal.
What sabres fans want has nothing to do with the actual market. Look at what Jaybo fetched. Look at Jagr. Look at Iginla. There is a lot of recent history to show what ufa market looks like.
Look at what Schneider fetched. His unproven track record is offset by his economical cost and age difference when comparing him to Miller's trade value.
Him being a potential rental, his limited movement, and his limited real options of where to go all limit his realistic trade value right now.
Remember, if Buffalo doesn't trade him, it is very possible that they get nothing for him when/if he signs in STL or some other place next year. Assuming no goalie solution by the summer in STL, Army will go after Miller much like Pleau went after Hasek, only Army will be able to make a better case. |

yup he is would be the prettiest crack whore in the bunch..
he is a highend back up on a team that doesn't score 4 or more goals a game... i question whether Enroth is better than he is.
he is overpaid by about 3 mil or so. we are currently paying miller slightly more than his contract and people biotch about his contract. |

You are right sort of. You don't have to make that trade but it's pretty well known the Blues want Miller I wonder why that is.
I still say package Miller and Moulson or Ott and a second for One of Tarasenko or Schwartz and Halak |

Miller has been the Sabres best player and one of, if not, the best goalies in the league all year. What's your point? The Sabres get dog food for Miller? - GilPerreault11
You missed the point completely. Tarasenko is one of the Blues best players is also one of their best bargains, one that they control (relatively speaking) for years to come because he is still on his ELC. This inherently ups his value to the team astronomically.
You can't have all high paid ufas on your team even if you wanted to be like Sather's aweful Rangers teams because of the cap.
Miller's high paid ufa status automatically lowers his value.

CC has shown the ability to stand on his head and win games by himself. I certainly agree with the notion that Ryan Miller is a better goal-tender than he, but Crawford would still be starting over Enroth - no questions asked in my opinion. Plus he just recently turned 29 and given the fact that this is his fourth year starting means he is still fairly young and doesn't have much wear-and-tear to his body. |
