He might. He's lost a step, but he's still consistently one of the Flyers better defensemen, even at age 378 |

I think he would. This is going to be a weak draft year. Timonen was everything you'd want as a veteran playoff pickup. All other defenseman at his level will cost more than a late first rounder. |

Yah no thanks on Couturier over Voracek or Simmonds.
While Couturier may someday be a good shutdown player I don't think he brings as many tools as either 17 or 93.

It's not easier to find a Top 1-2 forward than it is a top 4 dman..
3 players on this team should be here..everyone else move em for Dan Boyle and Brian Campbell.. Then keep on keeping on with the Flyers way and make Hexy the gm. - opeth_pa
Thats apples and oranges. How many defenseman are as good as Weber? Maybe 5? How many centers are as good as Giroux? At least 15.
Keep in mind that defenseman age much better than forwards and Weber is signed at a very good deal. |

He's still their best defenseman. He's the only defenseman who is a plus. And he matches up against the top lines. |

yeah, maybe ... a late first just seems a bit high to me.
but, either way, they just need to start making changes to this D mix. ASAP |

Glad I chose to go sledding with the kids instead of watching this game. Looks like they still have their heads up the ass. Oddly I don't really seem to get that angry I find this team hard to really get that into. I've never felt less of an attachment to a Flyers team. At this point I don't really care who stays and who goes, but this poop has to stop. |

Now that made me chuckle - landros 2
You have to laugh at this point. Sustaining this many mishaps and bad decisions...I mean, when they finally do clear the defensive zone, I almost feel let down.
I've just decided to let it entertain me instead of pissing me off.

He's only 377. He won't turn 378 until March - after the TD.
Timo would probably garner only a second at best since he's probably retiring. Maybe a conditional first if he resigns. |

Personally, they should've just gone that way before the season started. I think everyone had the feeling before this year that people have for the Phillies this year; the front office is clinging to a core group that just isn't getting it done.
They may be able to get to the playoffs, but they won'y realistically compete for a Cup. Would've been better to start with the young guys in the AHL who got some work late last year. |

Agree and it shouldn't be sitting Mez for undersized coming off an injury Gus...
One of the twin towers of slow would be a different story.

Look at guys like Douglas Murray or Gaustad or Brendan Morrow.
A guy like Timonen would garner interest from almost every playoff team. Who wouldn't want a guy like him? |

very surprised that Mez sits rather than Grossmann.
If there's one thing this D group needs is more mobility, and although Mez has his problems, he fills a need much more than Grossmann does. |

Its a little different. The Flyers are the equivalent of having a good young offense with potential and no pitching. |

Grossmann has been (frank)ing horrible today. 3 or 4 bad turnovers, dumb penalty, Flyers consistently hemmed in their own end when he is on the ice.
I don't give a single (frank) how many shots he blocks or how many hits he has. |
