If the Bruins offered Hamilton for Coburn and this year's first round pick, would you do it? - PhillySportsGuy
Not sure how you could turn that one down... Chiarelli would have to have a brain-injury to make that kind of offer, especially in a relatively weak draft year. |

What about for Coburn and a 2nd? - BiggE
No way Boston would do that. Coburn and a first would be fair value. |

Changing the topic for a moment, I know some of you as I do, live in the south Jersey shore area. Any interest in maybe meeting up at an Atlantic or Cape May Co. sports bar to watch a game? |

That I might consider. I don't trade a 1st for this year unless it's a bona fide number one or a young veteran who looks like he'll be a top pair guy. |

It's a good point. Berube has gotten the wins that at least opened the door to hope for the season after the 1-7 start, but his lineup choices baffle me. If you have to force in Lecavalier at center, why not bump Hartnell up to the Giroux-Voracek line, and drop Raffl down to 3rd line LW, with Read on the right side? Or even drop Raffl to the fourth line to give that line a bit more skill and re-unite Dowine with Couturier and Read?
I also hate the defense pairs. I don't like Grossmann & Streit together, and Schenn and Meszaros pairs two guys prone to mental mistakes and bad reads together.
I'd rather see 44-22, 5-32 & 41-8 if they won't bring in Gustafsson. - Jsaquella
I realize that whatever's up with Steve Downie, whether he's hurt or not, he doesn't appear to be getting any breaks in the lineup.
But I also know this: Sean Couturier was looking like a terrifying force when it was Read-Couturier-Downie. I realize you can't just reward guys for poor play, and if Downie did something in games or in practices, maybe you have to do something. I don't know about all that stuff, and I realize that coaches have to make those calls.
But man...Couturier was showing that he could actually score if you gave him complementary wingers. And I guess I'm just not smart enough to understand why, if Downie is healthy, that you wouldn't put that line back together and see if you could get Couturier going again, too.
I'd roll those defense pairs, too -- I mean, seriously. 5-44 is a luxury right now. But with Grossmann-Streit and Meszaros-Schenn just struggling defensively...I mean, come on. Either insert Gus and sit somebody, or change the pairings. But giving up 3, 4, 5 goals a night with the old pairings and pretending that's gonna change...well, it might. The forwards could do a better job. But the defense could do a better job, too.

He has a very good team this year. Coburn would be the ideal acquisition. The pick would make it so the team can reload with another prospect. They would be making their current team better and sacrificing a bit long term, but not gutting their farm system. |

Honestly, I think if they are willing to move Hamilton for Coburn and a 2nd its a no brainer. |

They're on record stating they're going to stay committed to the young D they've had to call up due to injuries, especially that Bartowski-Miller pair. |

Yeah, for a second, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I'm not as sold on Hamilton as others, although he is an extremely promising young player who does project to be a top pair defenseman at least.
EDIT: Actually, yeah, I'd do it for Coburn and a 1st, too. |

Everyone I know is going south right now. Puerto Rico, Aruba, Florida. You are all cowards! Face the cold and man up!
But yea, let me know when you get back. |

Buahaha, welcome to the dark side.
Hamilton has a chance to be as good as Jones when all is said and done. |

You know, if they decided to move Coburn, with the market for defensemen the way it is, with him signed for another couple years at his salary...they'd get some serious return, maybe more than we'd think.

Difficult to win a cup with a very young defense. I think it's, at least, an intriguing deal for both sides. If you're the Bruins, you never know when the window will close. Chara will eventually show signs of decline and Krejci has had concussion issues in the past.
They may want to strike while the irons hot. Plus, they have quite a few young defenseman and the extra first round pick. |

They would need to get a lot for him. He's the only guy you can pencil into the top 4 next season. |

Everyone goes to Aruba at the same time. Whats the point in going on vacation if you have to see all the same people you just left? |

No doubt, Coburn could actually net a decent return. He's just really really hard to replace though, so unless a better future dman is coming back, you really can't afford to move him. |

The offer from Edmonton was three 2nd rounders. i could see Coburn fetching a nice return, or maybe packaged with a forward to add a legit number one/top pair guy. |
